Fruit Salad, Yummy yummy!!!

This week was all about fruit.

Today the kids made a fruit salad, each of them contributing their favorite fruit. Libi's favorite (another shocker) pears! She even went to school in a pear shirt-- how's that for being thematic??

Here are some of the Hootin' Owls during roll call-- it is so small there in the morning.

Libi made her own apple-- it is really cute.

We made a quick stop at the Plonk's house to drop tickets off for the movie tomorrow night. Libi and Hailey enjoy each others company a great deal, but when the girls are tired sometimes things don't go well.

The girls were playing and Libi did something that Hailey didn't like so she started to cry. Libi thought that she was doing something wrong so she started to cry too. We calmed them down, but when we got into our car to leave Libs says to me, "Hailey broke my heart when she cried."

Tonight was our family portrait for the church directory. It was a nice surprise to find Bonnie was working the check in table.

We decided to all dress in black for the picture.

Libi was happy to pose for us and for the photographer. He even took some individual photos of Miss Libs-- and Bonnie told us that she was the only child he took individual pics of.

After dinner and a quick visit to MeMe and PopPop's there was more posing at home. This girl LOVES the camera.

It's getting hot, hot, hot!!!

We are in the midst of another heat wave!

We enjoyed the air conditioning at Nana and Pop's for lunch.

I experimented with Libi's hair today-- it was colorful, but I'm not sure I will do it that way again.

Even though we haven't had a meal in the rainbow kitchen for quite a while (it was my childhood tradition) Libi still found some rainbows in the dining room.

Nana and Libi still have lots of fun together.

After my very loud daughter was asked to be quiet for what felt like the millionth time we decided to head home for nap.

These pictures are mostly for Dad, but if you want to check them out you are more than welcome. The house behind my grandparents caught fire earlier in the week. It singed some of their plants, but it didn't do any other damage to their house.

Out of curiosity we drove around the block on the way home to see the total damage.

The poor house is toast, but it doesn't look like anyone was hurt.

School days...

Libi may be a girl whose favorite color is pink and who loves to wear dresses, but she can also hang with the boys! I think she could actually teach them a thing or two about Star Wars!

The kids have been going out early lately since the weather has been getting totally unbearable!

Hopefully Fall will come quickly!

It was far too hot for outside play at 12:30, so I had to take a picture of a very excited girl inside!

Even hot weather can't stop a girl from dancing!

Toys, toys everywhere....

Libi has been having some issues getting to sleep in her room lately. We have about a dozen "scary" toys lining our hallway upstairs because Libs wouldn't sleep until they were out of the room. Her closet was a particular source of distress, but when I told her that it was just full of clothes and toys we hadn't opened yet, her opinion changed.

To help ease her fears I grabbed one of the toys this morning from the closet and we opened it together. It was a Pooh stationary set that I have had since I worked for the Mouse. Libs spent the whole morning drawing, putting stickers on paper, and making things for family.

Later on it was back to the Wikki Sticks!

Libi made this bug that was very life-like!

For lunch I made Libi her first cookie cutter-ed sandwich. My Mom used to put these in my lunch box all the time.

While Amy and I scrapbooked in the evening, Ron took Libi to his folks house for a short visit.

They came home with some of his Star Wars action figures.

Libi was beyond stoked to play with them-- the princesses now have competition (or dates!)

Trying new things...

Today Libs made it through all of Sunday school and youth chapel. She had a great time!

Earlier this week we broke out Libi's wiki-sticks that we got her for her Birthday.

She made some beautiful things including a rose and

this sculpture!

As our family activity for the evening, we tried out new Netflix account which allows us to watch movies through out Wii.

Our first movie was G Force. We didn't make it all the way through, but what we saw was cute!

Limon Wedding...

It was Libi's first wedding tonight!

Ron's cousin Travis married a very sweet girl named Christina in Palmdale tonight.

All of the Limon's made it to the event and Libi was super excited to see all of them!

She was also very excited to see that they had cupcakes for dessert! Can you guess which one Libi had her eye on??

She and I both wore brown dresses to go with their wedding colors (we like to theme our outfits!)

Grampy and his girl!

The two brothers (and Ron's cousins) Travis and Cameron. I remember when they were much, much younger and now they are so grown up.

Libi was a very good guest!

Christina and her parents looked amazing!

We are excited to have one more family member!

It was a very special night for Libi as well. She got to drink her water out of a champagne glass and later she got apple cider to toast the couple!

She watched the couple's first dance with the same rapt attention she gives to her princesses!

For the dollar dance Libi got to dance with both Travis...

and Christina.

Then she took the floor all on her own!!!

She danced with anyone that would dance with her and Christina's friends were happy to oblige!

If you guessed the pink cupcake earlier, you were correct. She even grabbed it before the waiters had plated the desserts.

It was a fun night to get to see everyone in the family that we don't see often enough.

When it was time to catch the bouquet cousin Amanda helped Libi understand what was going to happen. She was told to try to catch the bouquet that Christina was throwing. She decided that there was an easier way to do this, so she went up to Christina and simply asked for the bouquet.

After they sent Libs back to the single lady area, the bouquet was thrown. She didn't catch it, but it's just as well as a little fight broke out over the flowers.

When the floor was opened up for free dancing Libi was the first one out.

During Michael Jackson's Billie Jean she had a dance-off with a teen-aged guest. He did lots of Jackson moves, but Libi was far cuter :)

Cousin Bridget was a frequent dance partner or Libi's.

During the slow dances Libi wanted to dance with her cousins. She asked Jordan, Jake, and Logan and they all turned her down. Ron and I suggested that she ask Uncle Jose-- and he was game for some dancing!

Libi made lots of new friends!

Ron and I got to dance a few slow dances together-- something that doesn't happen very often!

During the song "Wonderful Tonight" Ron and Libi took a spin on the floor. Libi was getting really tired at this point (she had been on the dance floor for over an hour!) but she still managed to steal her Daddy's heart. As they were dancing, Libi put her hand on Ron's cheek and said, "Daddy, will you sing to me?" That's my girl!!!

We made it almost to the end of the reception but we bowed out twenty minutes shy. On our way out Libi hopped into the picture with folks we don't know. She's such a joiner!

On the drive home we told Libi that she could fall asleep in the car if she wanted to. We knew she was tired when her response was, "I want to!"
