A preppy little girl

Today Libs wore a super preppy outfit to school.

Upon drop off she joined right in with Miss Cindy and her friend Madison.

I love the little wave I get when Libi sees me at pick up!

That blooming red ball again!

Today she used it constructively-- playing catch with Miss Caroline...

and posing with her friends.

Today she made an owl that is on display in the classroom.

When it was time to go home Libi showed me her artwork...

friend puppets. Today her friend of choice was Faith-- a sweet girl who is in the panda class.

They were played with a great deal tonight...

and the friends changed as the night progressed.

I love these dolls but I do not love all the tiny pieces. Libi is really good about cleaning them up but I still find tiny shoes and necklaces all over the floor.

I've been quite addicted to my DVD of Top Chef season 4.

It is rubbing off on Libi who has been cooking up a storm.

I am returning to the land of the living even though my cough is holding on.

Thanks for keeping up with our silly family!

Another short post...

Today Libs and I hung out at the house...

I resumed cooking now that the weather is cooler.

Libi continued to play with her princesses...

and her dolls!

A few Libi-isms:

"I just want to marry Luke Skywalker!"

"I love being a kid." Said during dinner with Nana and Pop

Party!

This morning was spent conserving our energy for a big afternoon.

Ron and I headed to Betti Sternberg's retirement party.

It was a gorgeous day! Hopefully summer is over and fall is on the way!

Ron played many roles at the party-- DJ, MC, technology guru!!

It was a really nice party with a make your own pasta buffet and a yummy cake (a party isn't a party without a cake in my world!)

It was such a fun night to honor Betti!

While we were celebrating Libi was hanging with her aunts!

The aunts really weren't here to watch Libi-- they were on dog patrol! With Gizmo the dog count was up to three. Oy vey!!!

It looks like they had lots of fun!!!

On the mend...

Libi and I are both on the mend! This cold has just hung on forever causing us to go through thousands of tissues this week!

This fine (20 degree cooler) Saturday was spent doing the following:

Dog-sitting Sheba, Shaunna's dog

Dancing and playing with toys

Creating Libi's share album for the year

Hanging out with Amy and the kids. Amy and I did some scrapbooking while the kids played. How nice it was for us to get together and just relax!

Ron and Libs worked on the mazes from Libi's preschool book.

I think she's doing pretty well holding her pencil.

Shonna pointed out that Libi has a lot of toys-- well that is an understatement!!! Tonight she took nearly every stuffed toy out of her toy box to play with them.

My saving grace this week has been showing Libi videos from when she was a baby. She and I have spent a great deal of time oohing and aahing over baby Libi.

Tonight Daddy got in on the act and due to his superior technological skills we were able to watch the videos super-sized on our TV. We all enjoyed seeing our little family grow!

Stick a fork in me... I'm done!!!!

This morning I awoke to find the kitchen covered in ants. I despise ants, but ants in the kitchen are the absolute worst!!!!

Don't judge about the sink full of dishes-- I've been sick and hot all week!!!

I spent the day Windexing ants, coughing/blowing my nose, and helping Libi with her pencil skills. She just loves her Big Preschool book that will eventually get her to practice her letters.

Tiana and Nancy played dress up with Lou this morning...

I think Nancy loved her big ring!!!!

There was much silliness to be had...

especially when Libs put her purse on her head!

She's so good at making me smile even when I feel like dirt!

In the evening we got to talk to Jammy and Granpa on the phone. Libi is so dramatic when she talks to them. Too bad she holds the phone in such wonky angles that they can't understand much of what she says.

Keeping cool...

Today I sent Libi off to her air-conditioned school while I sweated at the house.

She is still learning about safety and today she made a stop light.

It had this cute poem on it, which made me laugh. How many of us have blown a yellow???

The toys have totally replaced me as I still have no energy to play.

Poor Manny was found lodged in our table....

and Nancy & Tiana joined Libs at her table.

Our favorite show of the summer is Phineas and Ferb.

It is clever, funny and full of catchy music! Look for some of it on our upcoming holiday CD (it's going to be a good one this year!)

Where's Perry???

Happily our air is working again-- even if we do have to go outside to turn it off and on. Don't ask!

You know that I was done yesterday when I didn't even touch the cream cheese pie from Claim Jumper. Tonight after Libs went to bed Ron and I ate this most delicious dessert!

We ran the air all night to compensate for the hottest night ever last night but I'm happy to report that the house is cooling off!
