A day with the fairy tales...

After a good breakfast this morning Libi and I headed up to Sacramento. A little side note: Libi now knows that she lives in California, but when you ask her the capital of CA she says, "Lincoln!" I suppose this is because we went to the Lincoln exhibit in the state capital and so she's associating the two. When you get her to say the word Sacramento-- it sounds pretty cute though! Our destination was Fairytale Town. It's this really cute park all designed around popular fairy tales! At first little miss party pooper wouldn't get out of the stroller-- she was just too intimidated by all the fun!You may notice the gold key around her neck-- they had these kiosks that would tell stories or sing songs to the kids depending on which side of the key they inserted into the machine. Libi loved this-- it was the best $3.50 I spent all day! She would run from kiosk to kiosk saying, "There's one, there's one!!"After the key machines broke the ice she was willing to get out and explore. In the barn area there was a cool tractor to climb on...and another key machine! We spent a great deal of time in Sherwood Forrest. They had a play area and a wooded area with Robin Hood and Little John's chairs! All of your favorite fairy tale stories were represented: Cinderella, 3 Little Pigs, Billy Goats Gruff, Old Lady in the Shoe, Jack and Jill... the list goes on and on!I just loved this cheese! Do you know what the plaque says?? "The cheese stands alone!" I just thought that was hysterical-- poor cheese!Libs spent some time driving the train-- her Granpa would've been proud! She even shared the controls with a younger girl without any prompting from me!Peter Pan is still one of our favorite films so we had to check out the pirate ship, or as Libi called it, "Captain Smee's ship!"I didn't have my regular fancy camera with me today (Ron is using it at UCSB) but I think the diaper bag camera did a nice job! It also records video which brings us to the next photo.

There are a few things I need to explain before you see it:
1. Ron bought a web cam so that we can see him and chat with him while he's away. We don't have a camera so he can't see us, but that will be remidied soon!
2. Ron "called" us on his web cam the other day so Libi could see him in my computer. I think this really messed with her becuase all she could say was, "Hi Daddy!" and giggle and run away!
3. While we were on the ship she went to the wheel and said, "Arrgh!" which is something she and Daddy do all the time so I decided to record a vidoe for him. Here it is:

Isn't that just so sweet???OK on with the rest of the pics! We stopped briefly for lunch. It was nice becuase we got to see one of the international day performances while we ate!We had to say hello to Mother Goose. Isn't she just precious? Our last big attraction before we left was walking the crooked mile. It felt like a mile long! It was windy and steep and full of kids who wanted to run the track. We had to keep pulling over to let folks pass us, but it was fun to do!Bye, bye Fairytale Town. We're back off to Stockton for a nap and ice cream with Auntie Valerie!
