A day at the zoo

Today some of our MOPS gals met up at the L.A. Zoo for a few hours.
Libs and I are never one to miss an outing so we went along (actually I organized it, but that's not really important!)

We drove down with Laura and Courtney. Libs loved being around a big girl!!Courtney and Libi played together really well. They tickled each other and talked to each other during the drive down and then Courtney pushed Libs all over the front of the zoo while we waited for the other gals. When it came time to see the animals Libi wanted to be up on the railings like the big kids. Mommy had to supervise this!!!So many animals were active due to the chilly weather-- it was great for the kids. We saw:Armadillos walking around-- they are very awkward walkers! The baby koala was also active. He climbed all over while the kids watched and squealed!!The kangaroos were eating when we first entered Australia-- when we left the area they were lounging! The gorillas are always a favorite with the kids...our kids were no exception. We spent a great deal of time watching them walk around and play with each other. The lions were even walking and talking...the boy lion was very interested in the girl lion-- if you catch my drift-- luckily no baby lions were created while we watched. The lioness wasn't having any of his schenanigans-- many of our Moms could relate :)
After a brief stop for lunch by the giraffes and lions, our animal hunt continued! The tigers weren't active but they were out where we could get a good peek at them. The rhino was being treated by the vet-- his horn was infected and so it had to be removed. All 3 giant tortoises were out and about today. The didn't do a whole lotta moving while we were there but they at least were out to say hello!Perhaps the most exciting thing we saw all day was the jaguar. He was walking all around his enclosure and growling-- perhaps it was his nap time. After a full day of looking at animals and picking up every blooming leaf in the entire zoo...we were all tuckered out!
