A day in Sacramento...

Today Libi, Ron, Dad and I headed up to Sacramento to see a Lincoln exhibit at the California Museum.
In the car on the way up there Libs was super-duper talkative--- speaking of her new quotes she now says "Supa Dupa" with a British accent like Tracy Ulman does is Once Upon a Mattress.

She also began singing "Life is a Highway" from the Cars movie. Living with Libi is like playing name that tune all the time-- she sings non-stop but she only know a few words or phrases correctly the rest she makes up. Luckily, I'm pretty good at the game so I help her fill in the missing blanks :)
The museum was very new and bright. Since we hadn't been there before we didn't know what to expect. There were lots of homages to the symbols of California including this giant bear in the lobby...and the seal in a hallway. You can't have a museum about California without paying homage to the Mouse. Libs was super excited to see him, but she wasn't sure why he had an eyeball on his shoe??There were several interesting exhibits: women in California, the CA Hall of Fame (I didn't know we had one of these), and there was a special exhibit featuring...Lincoln!!! Libi was super excited to see Lincoln-- her father and grandfathers influence is paying off :)We got a couple of pictures before we were told no photos were allowed-- whoops!!! Here is the Lincoln Bible-- the very same that President Obama used at his inaguration and that Lincoln used at his first as well!At the end of the exhibit Libs made a crayon rubbing of a Lincoln penny-- super fun!!That was fun, but next it was time for lunch!! We went to Guy Fieri's Sacramento joint called Tex Wasabi's! We are big fans of Food Network in general and Triple D in particular (Diner's, Drive-Ins and Dives.) I'm pretty sure I've even mentioned Triple D before in my blog :)Libs was intrugied by the chop sticks...which she used as drum sticks-- ahh my musical girl!!In honor of Grammy we had meat on a stick as our appetizer-- Libi thought it was a wand.Granpa was so good-- he ordered a Caesar salad (nobody tell Jammy he got a side of fries too!)I had these yummy potsickers which had a fancier name that I can't recall right now. It was absolutely delicious-- a perfect lunch!!!Ron was super adventurous... he tried Gringo Sushi. Bonnie is going to faint when she reads this because my hubby doesn't like sushi at all! This was a unique sushi with french fries, spicy chicken and rice paper. He ate it all and really enjoyed it-- we will definately be returning to this place!
