Today we convinced Jammy to head down to Disneyland for a short visit.
Libi was in withdrawal since we hadn't been in weeks!!!
While we didn't get to see Mickey Mouse one-on-one, we did get our picture taken with his flower likeness out front.
The first thing we experienced was the Disneyland band doing a concert!
We stopped for a bit to listen to songs like, "I Just Can't Wait to Be King", a Peter Pan medly, and "Under the Sea!"
We also took advantage of a lonely PhotoPass photographer to take a picture of all 3 of us!
After some window shopping down Main Street we met....
Aladdin and Jasmine in Adventureland!Libi was pretty excited to see them! This is a girl who knows her Disney movies and characters!
Then it was time for the only "ride" we did all day-- the Tiki Room.
Libi really noticed all the Tiki gods today. She loved the one that dumped water into the pond. Evertime it would dump she would giggle like crazy!
For a cool treat we split a Dole whip! If you've never had one, you must give it a try-- so light and refreshing and pinapple-y!!
We were sitting right below the tree that has life spring from it's limbs-- Libs wasn't too sure about it!
On our way out of the park we saw a few more characters-- Dale
and Pluto puppy!
Libi was a bit skiddish with the costumed characters again today. I thought we were over this phase but maybe it's been too long since we've been there :(
After a nap in the car we made it to Nana and Pop's house for dinner and Nana's special cupcakes!
We were lucky that Granpa shared with us-- sometimes he just takes all the cupcakes for himself.
One last chore for the day.... we had to get the mail.
Libi and Granpa took care of this-- riding the wagon out to the mailbox...
loading the mail into the wagon, and bringing it home to me! We have had such a nice weekend with Jammy and Granpa, we will be sad to see them go home tomorrow.
