Today we ventured to the Leona Valley to pick cherries. Neither Ron nor I had ever been to this area of southern California which is surprisingly close to us.Since Gymboree didn't make a cherry line this season-- we had to wear this ensemble. It was pink, green and red- very cherry like in my opinion! She got lots of comments on her cool shades too!We e-mailed our Facebook friends and our MOPS/Mom's Club friends to see if anyone wanted to join us. Happily we were joined by....Miss Moira, Jessica and Jack, and Lucas from MOPS and Pioneer Club (along with his Mom Colleen!)We hopped into a wagon, grabbed our buckets and we were on our way to the orchard! There were rows and rows of trees all full of.....CHERRIES, cherries, and more cherries. They were so low on the trees that Libi was able to pick lots on her own!!After the cherries were bought and paid for we spent some time chatting with our friends while Libs entertained herself with sticks, singing songs to herself, and
sliding on a very dirty slide. She was covered in dust-- her diaper was even grey on the outside due to all of the dirt she brought home. After a nap and some re-decorating of the house (Easter is finally out of our house-- Yippee!!!) it was time for a movie night with the Mom's Club gals.Ron was sweet enough to set up his screen for us to enjoy Sword in the Stone. While I set up Libs blanket for her she spent most of her time running around or sitting in a chair that Lara brought.I don't think she had seen the movie before and she really enjoyed it-- especially the music. Here she is directing the packing song.
It has been a long week and we're gearing up for a busy weekend!
