This morning we went to Fair Oaks park for some play time.
Libi was climbing on everything! She is getting so adventurous!!
She was quite impatient waiting for her friend Cooper to join us, but she filled some time sliding down the slide.
Whee!!!!
When Cooper arrived he was drawn to the slide too.
We waited for Cooper to go on the swings....
both kids enjoyed their time.
When it came to the longer, twistier slide Libi wouldn't go down-- she watched Cooper go down lots!
Cooper was also a very brave climber! Stacy and I kept being surprised as he appeared at the top of the jungle gym.
When it came time to leave there were lots of hugs!
They are such good pals!! Too bad we don't live closer :(
After lunch we grabbed Grammy and headed to the Santa Barbara Zoo.
Libi loved showing Grammy what all the animals were and what they said.
One of the first animals we saw was the elephant!!
Mommy's camera got upclose and personal with one of the pacyderms.
In honor of Cris' 60th Birthday we stopped for this photo op with her adoring children. I love how the elephant turned towards us right before I took the picture.
They have some new exhibits, including a condor aviary. Cris decided to see how she compares to the condor--- not too shabby!!
There was a display telling all about birds at the aviary that Libi really enjoyed.
We got to see the gorillas for the first time....
just like all the other animals in the zoo they are easy to see!
We are related to monkeys and apes-- see who's in the circle at the center???
It was so nice to spend the afternoon with Grammy, Aunt Andrea and Aunt Violet.
Grammy's favorites, the lions, were even out and awake!
At the top of the hill we stopped for a family portrait-- Libi wasn't super cooperative. Oh well-- at least we are all smiling!!
We let Libs ride the train-- it was the world's longest ride, over 2 minutes!!
After a brief drive back towards home we stopped at El Pescador for dinner.
We toasted to Cris' health and happiness with margaritas!
We took some cute photos too while we waited for dinner-- here's Ron and Andrea,
Mommy and Libi,
and Libi and Grammy. Here she is giving her big birthday hugs!
Grammy got to wear this cool hat while we sang to her!
Grammy shared it with Libi....
but Libi wanted it just for herself!!! She is truly a hat girl!!
As a special treat (to kill time while we waited for the bill) Libs got to eat a lollipop.
Libs thought it was hilarious that her tongue turned green. It was a very full and very fun day!!
