Today began slowly, we both enjoyed sleeping in this morning :) Due to a cancellation from Nana and Pop we were able to go to a Mom's Club park date. Libs ran into the park to see all of her friends. While I was chatting with some of the moms she ran to the swings and persuaded a mom to put her on the big girl swing.
She loved the exhilaration! She kept saying "Hold on tight," I'm so glad my Mommy paranoia for being safe is rubbing off.
Now that she's two (her first words out of her mouth every morning after Hello Mommy) she is determined to climb up on the rocking horse.
She never made it, but I'm happy to report that she didn't fall off either.
The kids were really into the sand toys today. Libs enjoyed playing with a shovel, two horse shoes and a pinecone. She also decided to eat sand--I fed her before we left... honest!

We ran to grab some party stuff after the park and I noticed that Libi was just coughing and her nose was running nonstop. I called Dr. Vashistha and he said he wanted to see her. After a short wait we found out that poor Missy now has a head cold. Her ear infections have cleared but now she has a whole new malady. We have her on new meds and we're hoping for the best.
She did get to show her Tinkerbell dolly to the doctor and to Cassie who cuts our hair. The cutie-patootie story for the day comes from a brief stop to make an appointment at our hair salon. She walked through the whole shop saying, "Cassie, Cassie" until she found her in the back. Once she saw her she pulled off her hat and said, "Cassie hair!" She was very disappointed that she wasn't gettting her hair done today. Hopefully she'll be as excited about it next week when we actually have an appointment.
We spent some time in the two year old room and Libs hopped right in to free play. She loved the playing house corner of the room with pots and pans. Ron and I enjoyed the time to ask some questions and poke through the room.
Tonight Jammy and Granpa rolled into town. We have had a nice evening-- still continuing to remove Christmas stuff and prepare for the party on Saturday. Thank goodness that we have help for a few more days :)

So today I took about 40 pictures of the Mommy's who felt beautiful today. It was really fun to channel my yearbook hubby to take some mug shots!
Daddy brought a special treat home from work. Aunt Betti from his school found this plate that used to belong to her daughter and she thought Libs would love it. She was so happy to carry it around and point to Tinks wings, hair and shoes.
Tonight in tubby Libs played with her xylophone the entire time. She was so proud to show off her skills. She just learned the word mallet and showed it off by yelling it and pounding them of every surface in the tub.
Post tubby we have been chiling on the sofa watching American Idol. What a nice day!
We have again had the pleasure today of watching THE movie-- Libs got to show her wings to Miss Tink today.
This evening we had a great dinner with Ron's family and Libs got to blow out her first Birthday candles of the year.
It was her first real Jack in the Box with the crank and the traditional song and all. She knows the song and the concept from the Wiggles, but seeing it in person was very funny!!!
Today my little girl turned 2. To celebrate we delivered doughnuts and coffee to the nurses at Henry Mayo where Libi was born.
The nurses are always happy to see our little girl and she likes giving all of them hugs. Next it was off to Disneyland.
We had a quick lunch (notice the big girl sitting in a chair with no booster or high chair!) Then we caught up with our friends the Hendersons who were kind enough to come spend the day with us.

It was only Libs second time on the ride (the first time was with Amy, Ben and Emma) and her first time with Daddy. They both had fun going up and down and waving to the people whizzing by.
