Day 3 in Stockton...

We are still happy to report that all is well with us in Stockton. We were able to head back to the pool today and the weather was perfect!!Libs was a bit hesitant at first, but soon she was "swimming" like a pro.By swimming I mean hanging on to one of us and attempting to kick. She is getting better about keeping her mouth closed.Granpa was our pool photographer for the day-- here Libs is waving to him and saying, "Hello Gran-pa!"Today we spent more time in the shallow end where Libs could stand up on her own. She really enjoyed splashing around and watching the big kids swim.By the end of the afternoon she was getting braver and walking further and further into the pool. We are hoping to enroll her in lessons in August so we can keep on this roll!!After naps for Mommy and Libi we headed to the Friday night hot-spot, Bob's on the Marina for our weekly hamburgers.Libs enjoyed the fries....and her very own slider! She went back and forth-- burger, fry, burger, fry-- until Mommy brought out some apples then it went burger, apple, burger, apple, etc. After dinner Granpa took Libs down to the docks to check out the boats-- one of their favorite after-dinner passtimes. This boat was my favorite-- all decked out for the 4th. When we walked by a very nice man beckoned Libs and I toward the boat...and gave Libs a pinwheel and a patriotic bear. She was so thrilled with these gifts-- it was very sweet of this man to be so kind!Every 4th since Libs was little we've taken a picture at Bob's. Here we are today....This was last year-- yes I know I'm wearing the exact same shirt, pin and earrings but I promise you it's been washed since then :) I think I need some new patriotic gear!!This was Libs first 4th of July trip to Bob's! Wasn't this a fun trip down memory lane???

On the way out of the marina we noticed that several of the geese who were living there were standing on one leg, so Libs and Ron modeled for us. These two are so silly! Libs is going to miss Daddy when he leaves for UCSB tomorrow! After dinner we brought Uncle Bob, Aunt Renia, Anni and Mackenna back to Jammy and Granpa's house to play. Libs decided to model her star-burst headband she brought for the 4th.Daddy put on the "Chihuahua Song" for Libs and the girls to dance to and my daughter cracker herself up!!She's quite a dancer-- look at that form!!One moment she was dancing and running through the family room...
next she was in her own little world!Aunt Renia even helped her take a picture of Mommy-- I will not show you that picture because Mommy wasn't prepared to be the subject of a photo :)By the end of the night she was tired and SUPER dramatic when she didn't get her way!!! After all the energy she expended today we are anticipating a very good night's sleep!

A day in Sacramento...

Today Libi, Ron, Dad and I headed up to Sacramento to see a Lincoln exhibit at the California Museum.
In the car on the way up there Libs was super-duper talkative--- speaking of her new quotes she now says "Supa Dupa" with a British accent like Tracy Ulman does is Once Upon a Mattress.

She also began singing "Life is a Highway" from the Cars movie. Living with Libi is like playing name that tune all the time-- she sings non-stop but she only know a few words or phrases correctly the rest she makes up. Luckily, I'm pretty good at the game so I help her fill in the missing blanks :)
The museum was very new and bright. Since we hadn't been there before we didn't know what to expect. There were lots of homages to the symbols of California including this giant bear in the lobby...and the seal in a hallway. You can't have a museum about California without paying homage to the Mouse. Libs was super excited to see him, but she wasn't sure why he had an eyeball on his shoe??There were several interesting exhibits: women in California, the CA Hall of Fame (I didn't know we had one of these), and there was a special exhibit featuring...Lincoln!!! Libi was super excited to see Lincoln-- her father and grandfathers influence is paying off :)We got a couple of pictures before we were told no photos were allowed-- whoops!!! Here is the Lincoln Bible-- the very same that President Obama used at his inaguration and that Lincoln used at his first as well!At the end of the exhibit Libs made a crayon rubbing of a Lincoln penny-- super fun!!That was fun, but next it was time for lunch!! We went to Guy Fieri's Sacramento joint called Tex Wasabi's! We are big fans of Food Network in general and Triple D in particular (Diner's, Drive-Ins and Dives.) I'm pretty sure I've even mentioned Triple D before in my blog :)Libs was intrugied by the chop sticks...which she used as drum sticks-- ahh my musical girl!!In honor of Grammy we had meat on a stick as our appetizer-- Libi thought it was a wand.Granpa was so good-- he ordered a Caesar salad (nobody tell Jammy he got a side of fries too!)I had these yummy potsickers which had a fancier name that I can't recall right now. It was absolutely delicious-- a perfect lunch!!!Ron was super adventurous... he tried Gringo Sushi. Bonnie is going to faint when she reads this because my hubby doesn't like sushi at all! This was a unique sushi with french fries, spicy chicken and rice paper. He ate it all and really enjoyed it-- we will definately be returning to this place!

A full day in Stockton

Today was our first full day at Jammy and Granpa's house since January. Libi has greatly been enjoying the "new" toys and books that they have around their home. She is really is trying to read-- Ron is convinced that she'll be reading by the time she's 3 (he's crazy!!!)After a nice long nap for Daddy and Libi we hopped into our suits and headed to the pool.Libs was so thrilled she nearly walked in without Ron or I.She loves the water!! Even dispite the fact that we haven't got her into swimming lessons yet, she was trying to kick and swim. She started off getting some water in her mouth, but then we talked about blowing bubbles under the water she started to get it.

Here she is swimming between Ron and I-- if she would only kick more she would take off!!

Please be kind as I don't love posting photos or videos of myself in a swimsuit, but if I want to document Libi's life this all goes along with it!It was really nice spending some family time in the pool-- the water temp and the weather were perfect! After a bloody nose in the pool and one too many times of swallowing water Libs was done.Once she was out of the pool though she really wanted back in... maybe tomorrow! For dinner tonight we went to CPK. Libs loved seeing all of the calorie counts on the menu--- the rest of us were horrified!!! An FYI today is the first day that California law requires restaurant chains to list calorie counts on their menu boards, menus or in pamphlet form. We were shocked at how bad some of our favorites at CPK were-- Ron's favorite salad was one of the worst! At the end of the meal Libs and Granpa began to play around. Libs stole Granpa's glasses-- while this is a big no-no she looked so cute that I had to snap a picture. To make it up to him she gave him fishy kisses....

and then began playing with his face. If this isn't love, I don't know what is!!
