SCLP Family Night

We laid low at the house today since we knew it was going to be a super fun night tonight!

Every year the SCLP families bring dinner to school, have a picnic, and play some games.

Tonight Libi was asked to help lead the prayer with some of her classmates.

Libi's and her friend Solea spent most of the night going from blanket to blanket visiting their freinds.

When it came to game time Ron got recruited to help run games and I was put in charge of Libi supervision.

We tried every game-- many more than once!

All of the parents wore name tags, but Libi decided that she needed one too. So she wrote out her name all by herself!

These girls were inseparable tonight!

They did make time for one quick photo with Madison :)

The final activity was an egg relay where the kids were on one side and the parents were on the other.

Libi made it across with only dropping her egg once.

It was a fun night for all of the families at SCLP.

Vegetable soup...

This week was all about vegetables at school.

Libi took a book which has a whole list of vegetables in it-- sadly we didn't realize that there was no share today.

Each child was supposed to bring their favorite vegetable to put in a veggie soup. My daughter told her teachers that cabbage was her favorite-- this was total news to me since I don't think Libi has ever had cabbage!

Ron was a trouper-- he ran out to the store last night to buy cabbage and he cut it all up for Libi and her friends.

When I left my little owl was happily playing with the dolls.

When I came to pick her up the teachers informed me that the kids loved our "garbage!"

They said that all the kids called the cabbage "garbage" and they really enjoyed it.

Nothing but the best "garbage" for Libi and her friends!

She wore one of her new owl outfits today from Jammy and Granpa and she looked adorable!

We didn't get to share the book with the class, but we did share it with Miss Caroline.

Time in my old hood...

For some reason the other day Libi and I were talking about my childhood home. On our way to Nana and Pop's I stopped to show her the house on Cantara Street. It has been re-painted, but it's still the same old house.

The weather has been so strange lately I'm never sure how to dress Libi. Today it was a bit chilly, hence the long-sleeves.

Today Libs was into drawing with her markers (a treat that is reserved for Nana and Pop's house.)

She also brought Nana into the act for a bit when she asked her to draw some things for her.

When the marker novelty wore off she moved on to the Play Doh. She made this amazing sculpture...

AND a rose that looked remarkably like a rose :)

She was so proud of it that she had to have everyone look at it...

and smell it!

As a dessert for her dessert Nana had a sucker waiting for her.

Only at Nana and Pop's can she have such fun adventures!!!!

A happy, happy day!!!

It was quite a happy day for our whole family!!

First of all it was Miss Caroline's Birthday today (actually yesterday) and Libi decided to sing to her!

When I was a kid and it was my teacher's birthday my Mom always took me to buy them flowers. I remember vividly walking through the shop, smelling all of the fragrance, and picking the perfect bouquet for them. Happily I am continuing this with Libs-- sorry to Miss Tasha since we hadn't begun Little People when it was her birthday.

Today Libi informed me that she apologized to the boy she hurt again. I think he forgave her because I found them playing together when I was at pickup.

After a quick nap we took Libs down to spend the evening with Aunt Andrea and Aunt Violet while we went to.......

the GLEE Premiere Party!!!

As a total Gleek I am a fan of the show on Facebook. Last week they had a post that invited viewers in the Los Angeles area to e-mail if they wanted to attend a special viewing party for the first episode of the new season. I quickly sent away, but didn't hear anything for days so I figured that I wasn't one of the 350 that would get to go. While we were in Long Beach I got the e-mail that would enable me and a guest to attend! Yippee!!!

Ron was happy to be my plus one!

We got to walk the red carpet to the check in tables.

While none of the main cast members were there in person, we did get to take pictures with lots of different posters.

I told you we were total Gleeks!

We did have a celebrity in our midst, Brad Ellis, the pianist from the show!

He was my favorite part of the entertainment line-up for the night.

After a rousing sing-a-long of some of the most famous Glee songs....

I got to meet him!!!!! He is so totally sweet :)

Our wristbands even said "Glee"-- I'm in heaven!

The final performance was from the group that inspired the show Glee.

One last picture....

then it was on with the show! Such a fun night to share with many like-minded Gleeks.
