In Stockton with the old folks...

No, I'm not referring to my parents-- rather the folks who live in Mom's community which Libi loves spending time with.

Saturday morning there was lots of time to cuddle and color with Jammy.

Jammy is so silly!

Before dinner we went to the community where Libi helped with some physical therapy.

Libs loved this "game" but she kept kicking to me not the residents-- guess we need to work on her helping skills.

Jammy had a little work to do so we spent some time in her office....

which Libi likes to think of as her personal play area.

Since Granpa wasn't able to come to Libi's Birthday parties, we had a mini cake and party Saturday night. Libs simply LOVED her Belle cake!!!

After singing and pretending to blow out a candle...

it was time to eat!!! There is ALWAYS room for dessert at Jammy and Granpa's house!

Up the 99

It was another travel day for our family! This time Ron was heading to a CADA function north of Sacramento and Libi, Tobee and I were visiting my folks.

Our drive today took us through snow,

(lots of pretty snow and news vans broadcasting about the storm of 2010!!),

and heavy rain!

When there were breaks in the weather we stopped to give Tobee and chance for some fresh air...

and for Libi to use the potty. We are finding lots of interesting places on our quest for the potty: this time we stopped at the CA Welcome Center in Tulare. In a few weeks Tulare will be the host of the World Ag Festival-- a very big deal!!

Libi refused to take a nap on the drive, despite the fact that she really needed one! At around 4 p.m. we were all at a breaking point-- here is a picture of the tantrum that was thrown (I didn't do any pictures of the tantrum I was throwing in the front seat, sorry!)

I took some pictures for Nana-- who finds Libi's infrequent tantrums funny-- but Libi put her hand up to refuse my photos.

Then it was over!!!

Sadly Libi missed a really cool double rainbow that we drove through.

The pictures don't do it justice, but it went all the way across the sky-- a perfect arc!

It was one of the brightest rainbows I've ever seen and it was with us for quite a while!

It certainly helped to make this dreary drive better!

Hopefully most of the storm has passed so we can all have a fun and productive weekend!

On the mend...

In honor of orange and green week-- Libs went to school looking like a leprechaun!

It's still raining so the kids (and the teachers) are getting a bit stir crazy!

When the toddlers entered the big room today the story was in progress-- not one to miss a good story, Libi pushed her way into the center of the group. I'm pleased that she likes literature so much, but I wish she wouldn't step on folks to experience it.

This afternoon the rain came down in buckets. Libi and I thought someone was pointing a hose at our house the way it just came down! We had to brave this bad weather though because tonight was something really special!!!

We began by going out to dinner at ChiChi's. I know it's not the fanciest place, but when you haven't really eaten in days-- you go with what sounds good!

Then it was a wet drive down the the Music Center.

We told Libi that her big girl surprise involved singing and dancing, but we didn't tell her anything else.

She was THRILLED to find out we were taking her to:

Mary Poppins the musical!!!

Cameras were prohibited, but I did manage to snap a few shots inside:

Here are Libi and Daddy after the show.

And a blurry shot of our family. Libi was in awe of the whole show. She sat transfixed during the entire thing. She did say "Hello" to Mary Poppins and comment that there were no animals in the "Jolly Holiday" song. During intermission she insisted that we start it again and when the show was over she wanted to see it again immediately! I think my plan to raise a theater-loving child is working!!!

After we pulled out the the theater, my daughter requested "Dessert!!!"...

but she crashed before we could get anything!!!

Down for the count...

Ron got the sickness this morning-- meaning that poor Libs was on her own!!!

Ron spent the day in bed (yes, he was so sick that he got a sub!) and I spent it sleeping on the sofa which meant that Libs was left to her own devices! Luckily Miss Libs is quite self sufficient!!!

She played with her toys, dressed up, and even played doctor to make me feel better! Most importantly when I drifted off to sleep, she was quiet and let me rest!

I love that girl!!!

By the end of the evening we were all feeling better-- perhaps we are in the clear???

A break in the storm...

This morning Libi was feeling better, so I took her to school and I went to have breakfast with some MOPS girls.

It was pouring again when I went to grab her, so I got to spend a little time in their classroom while they cleaned up.

The colors for this week are orange and green-- hence Libi's orange outfit!

We said goodbye to Libi's classroom...

and headed to the big room to sing the goodbye song with the rest of the kids.

Then we braved the weather for the drive home.

About 2 hours after this picture was taken, I got the stomach bug that Libi had! I was out of commission the rest of the day-- hopefully tomorrow will be better!

Poor Libs...

I was just thinking the other day how Libi had never thrown up-- I guess I spoke too soon!!! This morning she began getting sick about every 40 minutes or so-- she wouldn't even eat toast or bananas.

We spent the day cuddling in our PJ's-- luckily Daddy was home for support!

It was rainy and cold, and Libs would sleep, wake up, throw up, cry for a minute, then drift back off to sleep. We watched a few movies and whittled down our TiVo, so it was a "productive" day!

By 4 p.m. the sky was clearing...

and Libi had an appetite!! We broke out the Mickey Mouse sourdough bread that Jammy got for us at Disneyland yesterday..

and had some fun with it!

Everyone had to pose :)

Hopefully the worst is over now!
