A good report...

Today was Libs 4th day of preschool-- I'm sure I'll stop counting soon, but right now it's still so fun and new!!! This is a picture of the kids on the carpet getting ready to do their morning activities. Libi has her hand in the air because Miss Cindy is asking where the monkeys are-- mind you she also had her hand in the air when she asked for the Pandas and Owls :)When I went to pick Libs up I got a glowing report from Miss Carole, Miss Sabrina, AND Miss Tasha.Yep, Miss Tasha is BACK!!! Here is Libs with her official teacher for the year. Poor thing hurt her right hand-- you can see it just dangling in this picture so some things are challenging for her.Libs is getting the hang of playing with other kids...I just love this picture of all the girls chilling on top of the slide. You can see Libi, Noelle and Faith plus the top of Natalie's head.Today was all about friendship...and here is Libi modeling her friendship necklace. It says, "Libi" on one side and "Monkey friends" on the other...when I told Miss Sabrina that I was shocked that Libi couldn't come up with the name of a single friend she told me that none of the monkeys talk (except one-- can you guess which??) so they didn't even ask them they just wrote that on the back. Oh well!! Libi loves her "Cheerio necklace" as she calls it.Libi has become obsessed with my camera as of late. She always wants for me to take pictures of her with objects or she wants to use it herself. I think that Santa will have to bring her a camera of her own so she will stay away from mine :)The giraffe also got in on the photo shoot....as did Mommy!!! Not too shabby for an arm-length photo :)Grammy and Grampy came over for a short visit this evening. Libi just loves doing "luck-a-lucks" with Grampy...it tires both of them out!!Since it was Back to School Night at Mint Canyon we had the pleasure of watching Ben and Emma. We made our own pizzas for dinner-- Note: Ron wasn't here for this adventure he was at a Lincoln book signing so I was flying solo.I have to admit I was worried as to whether or not our toys could entertain three very different aged kids, but as you can see from this photo it wasn't a problem. They dressed up a bit, had an animal parade, cooked some fancy things with the kitchen stuff, and Ben was obsessed with Libi's Stitch light-up toy. They also played cars, enjoyed the Wiggles guitar and microphone (they had a band for a little bit!) AND...they watched some of Snow White. Ben was really hoping for one of the Star Wars movies, but he got outvoted by the girls.... poor Ben!!!

Here we go again...

Today we visited Nana and Pop for lunch, but I didn't take any photos!!! I know how shocking that is, but I promise to do better when we see them on Saturday!I attended a Pioneer Club training meeting this evening. Yes, I'm doing Skippers again! We have 16 kids who need someone to teach them the tree song :)

While I was there I asked Ron to take some pics of Libs. They were having too much fun to do this, so Daddy took some pictures of Libs sleeping. We don't do this often enough as she looks so cute all bunched up in her bed.I love the 7 or 8 toys and dolls that are next to her-- she keeps adding to the collection so pretty soon there won't be room for her!My favorite photo is this very artsy one! Ron is such a good photographer and an amazing Dad!!!

3rd Day of Preschool

While Libi's at school, Mommy will.........CLEAN!!!I realized that I never took pictures of all the work I did last week in Libi's room, so here it is!She still says "Amazing" when she walks in-- I think it blows her away how many fun things she has.I have to keep her closet closed because it is kind of obscene how many adorable outifts she has to wear :)Speaking of cute outfits, it was SCLP t-shirt day today. Libi sported her school shirt with pride! It was quite large for her, but I want her to be able to grow into it.She still loves her school-- she runs into the building each morning and when I come to pick her up she hugs me and then runs back to play with her friends. When the want the kids attention the teachers ring a bell. This signals the kids to freeze, put their hands on their heads and listen to directions. You can see Miss Sabrina is an expert at this-- Libi not so much :)Today Libs made a handwashing poster that is now on display in our bathroom. There is another song that goes along with this one, but I actually figured this one out.We made a quick stop at Albertson's to grab some things for dinner. At the checkout counter the clerks always give Libi stickers. On the paper there is a roller skating pizza, a surfing crab, and a chocolate chip cookie walking through the park. Libi ALWAYS chooses the crab for me-- I'm starting to take it personally... why can't Daddy be the crab once in a while???Our evening activity consisted of attending the Team Yukon ice cream social. Libs loved that she dressed "like Daddy!"Today must be the day for her to wear shirts that are two sizes too big for her. Sadly none of Daddy's students are small enough to merit them ordering a 2T size :)Libs had energy to burn tonight...she was all over the place: running, jumping, dancing, mingling, you name it, she did it!!Her first order of business was to grab some ice cream. She actually didn't get too messy which made Mommy happy!Once Daddy brought out the microphone Libi stuck right to his side. After she got a taste of fame at CADA, she wants to be on the mic all the time!

You can see Libs here just striving for her chance to talk. After all of the teachers introduced themselves, Libi finally got her chance. When Liz handed her the microphone she said, "Libi, 2 1/2 Birthday!" I think that was a pretty good introduction for a little person!!!While Ron was mingling Libi found a little 4 year-old girl named Riley whose brother is on Team Yukon and began to dance.

The two of them were very sweet together! At least she will have someone to play with at Yukon activities.

Dinner a la Melissa

This morning while we were lying in bed Libi started to get excited that Jammy and Granpa were coming to town. I told her that they were coming on Friday. We talked about every day this week and the activities we were doing: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 days until they visit. Then she shocked me by touching my fingers backwards and saying, "5, 4, 3, 2, 1"-- she is brilliant!!!

Libi and I enjoyed a day of shopping this morning. We ran to 2 different Payless stores to find the perfectly sized ballet and tap shoes for Libs dance class that begins next week. We then ran to Sam's Club as our cubbards were bare and we were super low on many essentials.
For dinner tonight I cooked an entire menu from Melissa D'Arrabian, the winner from The Next Food Network Star.I made her yummy 4-step chicken, bed of spinach and potato gratins. I have to say that I probably could have eaten the entire pan of gratin! It was crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside, creamy all over, and totally perfect!!!Libs enjoyed her fruit, vegies, and gratin but was very resistant to try the chicken. When she asked for more peaches we told her she had to try some chicken first, and this was the face we got.You would think that we were asking her to eat liver covered in brussel sprouts! She got all pouty and kept staring at her chicken and then staring at us-- her eyes begging us to not make her eat such a vile thing. Needless to say, she didn't try it so there were no more peaches for the evening, but Ron and I had a good laugh from it.

While she was playing in the evening she was telling her dolls to "Shut up!" This bugs me because I HATE this phrase and we NEVER say it in the house. I guess that the Simpsons are a bad influence, so we will have to have more of a chat about nice words and mean words.

Lately Libi has been selecting her books for bed-time reading. She has been choosing a book on the Underground Railroad, which makes her Daddy beam! It isn't the most uplifting book, but Daddy reads it really well and the pictures must intrigue her.

Celebrating Grampy

Today was really low-key!Libs has been finding all sorts of toys she forgot she had-- that's what happens when Mommy really gets the chance to clean things! This weekend she found her electronic book reader, but as you can see she ditched it quickly to read the books for herself! In the evening we met up with Grammy, Aunt Andrea and Aunt Violet at McDonalds to celebrate Grampy's 61st Birthday. After dinner Libs enjoyed some good cuddling time with Grampy. To work off our dinner we broke in our new badminton set.It was funny to watch Libs run back and forth trying to catch the birdie. When it started to get dark and some of us got tired, Libi and Grampy decided to practice hitting and catching.Libi was thrilled about "Ice cream and cake and cake"-- she sings that silly Baskin Robbins commercial song all the time!Grampy was so kind to let Libs blow out his candles....then she took off the candles...and got ready to eat! While presents were opened, Libi came over to me and read me a story. It was all about a dinosaur and a dragon-- we are obsessed with those two creatures right now!One final moment with Grampy and his girls.
