End of the Mom's Club year!!!!

Today was my last official day in Mom's Club. We had an installation luncheon at Lara's house.Libs had a great time playing in the water table and sailing around in their sand-box (doesn't it look like it's right out of the Jungle Cruise??)One of the older girls was playing with the tee-ball set and she was kind enough to show Libs the ropes. When it was her turn she grabbed the bat and yelled, "Play ball!" While this is an appropriate response I was stunned-- we don't watch sports and we've never been to a game. So where did my daughter pick-up the lingo??? Why from the Wii game that everyone was playing during Grammy's party. Her spirit is good, but we need to work on her form. I think this is an area for Pop-Pop since he used to coach baseball. This was the first time Libs put her feet on the pedals of a trike and pushed. It won't be long until she's a full fledged bike rider!!In keeping with her 50's ensemble, she even tried to hula hoop!

It was a fun day but I'm glad that the year is over!

A warm day at the park

Today we met up with some MOPS friends at Valencia Heritage Park.Libs was quite the picture of matchy-matchyness in her watermelon ensemble-- hat, sunglasses, shirt, and shorts. She was very happy to be photographed today-- it's nice that she is looking at the camera more. She was so cute hanging out in the kitchen area with 3 boys-- Daddy will need to watch out for her in 13 years or so. She just met Kayden today and already she was hugging him and putting her arm around him.As I said in a previous post Libi is becoming quite the climber. This photo was taken immediately before she fell off this apparatus to the ground. Luckily she was tough today and didn't even cry.I love this shot-- Libs and I were playing peek-a-boo (she was on the slide and I was on the ground.)Lou spent lots of time screaming on top of the equipment and getting other kids to join her. It made for quite a noisy morning.
While it was hot today (it finally feels like Summer here) we still had fun at the park!

A few funny tidbits...

Libi loves her Disney figurines. Ron and I were quite impressed with our daughter's grasp of equality. Note that there is only one heterosexual couple here (Belle and Hercules) all the rest are homosexual pairs-- Cindy and Snow White, Arial and Aurora, and Lightening McQueen and Luigi.Ron came out of the shower today to find this sight...
Libi was running through the upstairs wearing 3 pairs of Ron's clean underware and singing "Dancing Queen."Ron yelled down to me and asked for the camera...this moment was priceless!!In the evening we've been spending time in our yard. Libi decided to decorate Tobee this fine evening.Tobee was pretty patient with all of this...I think she knew she'd get lots of pity cookies from Daddy if she was good. Her bone kept her occupied during most of this...we're lucky it was a big bone. This is the look of a dog who is just about done.Good work Daddy to separate the two for a quick photo shoot.

Happy Father's Day!

For Father's Day Grampy requested dinner at:McDonald's!!!
This cracked me up: to see Libs sippy cup next to Grampy's senior diet Coke.Libs greatly enjoyed her burger Happy Meal. She also enjoyed playing with Grampy while she ate!The two of them are so silly together.I also thought it was funny to see all of our fries together on one tray-- that's a lotta fries!!!!
While we finished eating Libi and Grampy walked through the restaurant....
and tormented Grammy!!
Libi also entertained by singing and dancing through the restaurant.Next was time for gifts.
It looks like Grampy really enjoyed his home-made gift!

For dessert we were lucky enough to go to Yogurt with a Twist where every Dad got a free yogurt. This is one of our favorite haunts right now-- so we hope that our friends and family will check them out!!

Happy 60th Grammy!!

Today we celebrated Grammy's 60th Birthday by hosting a party. The first shots of the night were to toast the Birthday girl done by her brothers. It was a really fun night with lots of dancing, (even Libs got in on the dancing action),good food and lots of drinks, Wii in the garage,
gifts, and a flaming cake!Travis' fiance Christina brought the giant candles-- it is a tradition in their family! It was a tradition that I think I'm going to steal!! It was quite a sight!!It seemed like everyone enjoyed themselves!I was just glad all the hard work of the past few days was done...and that Libi took it upon herself to clean-- note how she took every cleaning apparatus and "helped" clean the floor in the garage. I just have to teach her to clean the bathrooms next :)
