Noah's Ark at the Skirball

Today we met up with some MOPS Mommy's at the Skirball Center to see Noah's ark.As you can see, Miss Libs looked adorable in her green spring dress. She was pretty upset that she didn't get to put on a sticker for the exhibit so I gave her a Tinkerbell sticker from the diaper bag. She proceeded to stick it on her nose and think it was hilarious!!!The first animal we saw was a mingo! You may notice that all of the animals are made with recycled materials. This one in particular has a purse body, fly swatter feet, comb feathers and its wings are a bow from a bow and arrow. The exhibit was amazing!!! The ark was huge and there were a million things for the kids to do.There was a little ark where the animals were two by two. Libi enjoyed moving them around and feeding them.Sadly when it was our time to have our picture taken on the camel (like every other mommy from our group) this was the reaction I got!!!! YIKES!!They had mops, brooms and dust pans to help clean the ark which Libs loved moving them around! She also greatly enjoyed picking up the pretend poop they occasionally put out on the floor. When she noticed it she looked at me with the, "I know I'm not supposed to touch this" look. She knew that she wasn't supposed to use her hands so she grabbed a broom, held it in one hand, and picked it up the poop with her other hand. Maybe I need to show her how to use a dust pan :)They had a story time which was accented with musical instruments, and a plant craft that Libi got to do!I think our favorite animal was the zebra. Libi was quite a bit camera shy, but she did stand next to the zebra.Libi's favorite place in the ark was the kitchen. She even made a meal for her friend Desi. They were so cute together sitting at the table having a meal.On our way out we stopped in the comic book exhibit and Libs watched all the boys ride in the batmobile. We asked her if she wanted to ride and she flatly said, "NO!" I think that she figured it was a boys thing so she didn't want to do it.

All in all it was a great day!!!

Drumming and Drama...

Today we had lunch with Nana and Pop. Nana keeps finding fun things for Libs to play with including the plastic figures of Mickey, Donald Quack Quack, and Grumpy that I used to play with as a child! The weather was so much nicer today than it has been all week so Libi and Pop spent a lot of time in the yard. When they came back Libi was carrying this beautiful flower with a giant black bug on it. Pop saved the day by taking it back to the great outdoors!Today Libi was most definately Pop's girl! They cuddled and watched Shaun the Sheep on my iPhone!Libi took her lollipop drum in to share with Nana-- she knew that Nana would let her play it as loud as she wanted! When we got home Libi and Tobee both took naps-- Libi was quicker to get upright than Tobee. I just thought this was totally funny!!! Tobee's legs hanging off the sofa and Libi saying, "Take a picture Mommy!"Tonight was one of the last 4 Skipper Clubs for the year! YIPPEE!!!! I guess I shouldn't be so excited, but it's been a long year!!! They practiced three songs for the Sunday services this week where Pioneer Clubs will be highlighted. The Skippers lost interest half way through the first song-- so it was a long beginning of club.Libi did bust out some awesome dance moves tonight though-- I guess if you lose interest in singing or doing the sign language for the songs the least you can do if rock it!!!!

A day for Grammy

I thought I would give you a glimpse of what happens each morning when I take a shower--- Libi is instructed to stay on the "island" (our bed) to watch a movie of her choice while I jump in the shower. On this particular morning both Tobee and Libi peacefully coexisted on the bed-- usually Tobee swims off the island to escape her huggy sister. We met up with one of my MOPS friends at the park. I didn't take any pictures there because we were so busy talking about things that I plum forgot!! I did snap this one of my rosey cheeked girl after we got home. After an hour at the park in the heat we were both pretty tired! After nap time Libs got all spiffed up to go to Grammy's ceremony! The Wm. S. Hart Classified Union was honoring their members who had served the district for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 years! Cris was receiving her 10 year pin so the whole family (Ron, Andrea, Ron, Libi and I) decided to surprise her and show up for the award!Libi loved the sparkly necklace she got when she walked in the door and she had fun feeding Grampy...and Grammy food! When it was time for Cris to get her award, Ron insisted that she pose with the Superintendent-- just like he did when he got his Teacher of the Year Award a few years ago!We are so proud of Cris for all that she does for her students at Canyon High School! We took Grammy out for dinner at Claim Jumpers afterwards. Libi loved the spaghetti she ordered as well as eating off other people's plates!Daddy, Aunt Andrea and I all really enjoyed our dessert-- which couldn't fed an army! Gotta love Claim Jumper portions!!!!

Low-key Monday

After a busy (and hot) weekend Libi and I spent the day at home! It was really nice to never get out of our pajamas and just relax!Libi decided to do some coloring-- she loves coloring and stickers! In the evening Libs took a much needed tubby! While Ron and I watch her during every bath, we're really a formality! Once she gets in the water she begins talking and singing, making up stories with her tub toys and bath paints-- she doesn't even notice if we're there or not!

During this particular tub, Libs lined up all of her ducks and dogs for a parade. Then she's slide them off the ledge into the water and give us that smile!

Celebrating two of our favorite people..

Oh my goodness, today we get to go celebrate Daddy and Aunt Andrea's Birthday! After a yummy meatloaf dinner Libi helped Ron open his gift...and she delivered one to Aunt Andrea.Grammy put us all in a festive mood by setting off crackers! Then it was time for.....TICKLES from Grampy!!!!!!We sang "Happy Birthday" and Libi didn't hide-- she was too excited about eating cake and ice cream.Libs had been looking forward to this all day! Before we left we took a few pictures-- one with Daddy....and one final picture with the Birthday folks! It was so nice to spend a quiet evening with family-- we should do it more often.

A Day with Thomas the Tank Engine...

Today we went to Fillmore to meet up with the Strassner's and Thomas the Tank Engine. One of my friends from Mint Canyon got group rate tickets for the event so we were happy to tag along! There was so much to see in Fillmore-- lots of trains. Some big....and some little! They even had some model trains going in the museum. I told Libi that Granpa has trains like this, but she didn't believe me!Once Amy, Howard, Ben and Emma got there the fun really began! While waiting in line Emma and Libi danced...and Libi used Ron's camera to take some pictures from her perspective!Once we got on the train, Miss Libs was so excited!!!

She waved to everyone and said "Hello" to every car we passed.
She also created a new song, based on the Doodlebop's classic "Get On The Bus" it's called "Get On The Train!"While the ride wasn't long the day was quite tiring-- it was crowded and hot walking around. We had a really good experience for our first time on the Fillmore and Western Railway! For lunch we had an amazing Mexican meal at El Pescador, a little restaurant we pass everytime we go anywhere on 126. While we were finishing up our meal Libi turned her cups into figurines for a great story. She is way too much fun to watch especially when she's in her own world.
