Another day at home

Libi has been stuffing things into her boots. The problem with this is that she forgets what she's stuck in there so later in the day she melts down when she can't find the figure she needs.Mommy then has to drop everything to locate them. She is especially fond of her Disney princesses these days-- especially because she has met many of them at the park. While we were watching American Idol she decided to be like Ariel again-- this time it was the topless version. What a goof! Here's my little singer trying to be like the folks on American Idol. Hopefully if she makes it to that show, she will do it with her shirt on!!

Look who's got a Farrah do.....

Don't you wish you had one too????
This morning we woke up to find that our daughter had her hair done by Farrah Fawcett in the middle of the night. She had wings and all-- the perfect hair do in the mid 70's!Just like looking in a mirror!

Today was very low-key. Libi was kind enough to share her cold with me-- I guess that all of her coughing in my face should have tipped me off that I was going to get sick, but I'm still reasonably new at this Mommy-thing!Daddy was in charge of tubby and Libi got to try out her new trumpet. She didn't really get it to make any sound, but Mommy did!!! I played "Little Bunny Foo Foo" and "Old Mac Donald"-- I've got skills!Libi has been swimming in the tub lately. Tonight she stayed in until there was no water left to swim in.

Perhaps the funniest thing Libi has done in a long time was caught on video tonight. She was playing around with the lip-shaped sunglasses that the Strassner's gave her for Valentine's Day. She put them on her eyes, her feet and then her belly. When I asked her what she was doing she simply said.......

"Be like Ariel!" I guess that she thought they look like shells! My daughter is quite goofy, but she makes me laugh!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Today we celebrated all the love we have for each other! Libs showed her love by yelling for Mommy at about 3 this morning. We spent the rest of the night jammed into bed together-- Mommy, Daddy, Tobee and Libi-- lots of LOVE!!Libi did show some love by sleeping in until nearly 10 a.m. When she finally went downstairs there were some Valentine's gifts waiting for her from Jammy and Granpa. Her favorite gift was really meant for tubby time-- it's a water trumpet. We need to work on the blowing and pressing on the keys-- Libs is more in a sucking mode and having Mommy press the keys to make sound. It will be fun to see what this sounds like in the tub when it actually has different pitches.Libs also got some new clothes which she threw all over the room. She did pause to try on the hat and attempted to put on the socks.

We said goodbye to Jammy and Granpa mid-day and Daddy and Libs took a really long nap! I used the time to work on the computer and catch up on more TV.As my gift to my wonderful family I made a sit-down dinner! We had tri-tip, scalloped potatoes, Texas toast and salad.Libs had her own heart-shaped plate complete with apples, cheese and toast all cut into hearts. She also had pasta in a heart-shaped dish-- very special! She did finagle some of Ron's sparkling cider-- it was her first time and I think she enjoyed the bubbles! After dinner, Grammy and Grampy came over for a visit. Libs loved opening her Valentine's gifts from them-- her blanket, plate and bath paint all seem like so much fun!She has lots of games she plays with them like "Baby Doll" and "1,2,3 Run" so there's lots of giggling going on when they're here! There was also much smiling because they brought dessert from Cold Stone Creamery!!! Libi and Daddy enjoyed the strawberry ice cream cake while I enjoyed my Shock-a-Cone that was purchased especially for moi!!!! I love it when my in-laws think of me!

Happy Valentine's Day to all from our family to yours!

A sniffly day...

Today Miss Libs had a really runny nose! We spent most of the day trying to wipe her nose and trying to stay warm.Libi was super excited that Emma came over for a bit in the morning so that Amy could volunteer in Ben's classroom. She was really looking forward to playing with her pal! The two girls colored and watched Tinkerbell-- it wasn't the most exciting visit ever, but we were happy that Emma came to play!Once Ben and Amy got back the real playing began. They went into the playhouse-- a Strassner favorite-- and then had a Birthday party with all the plastic figures. It was funny to see all of them in a circle around the singing cake.We rounded out the day by having lunch at Dink's Deli. Libi put cracker "hats" on all of her drink cups-- she was mighty proud of her creativity! The burgers were amazing-- the best ones outside of Stockton to be sure!

We were supposed to have dinner with Nana and Pop but due to the weather and Libs runny nose we decided not to go.

Happy 200th Birthday Mr. Lincoln!!

This morning we were lucky enough to have breakfast with Meme, Pop Pop and Little Grandma (a.k.a. Bonnie, Jim and Marge) at IHOP. It was so nice to sit with all of them and catch up. Tinkerbell got to come too! Libs was very excited to open more Birthday gifts! Little Grandma got her a Golden Book and Meme and Pop Pop gave her a Borders card to pick out some more books. She is so lucky to have so many extended family members who love her!!!Libs new favorite at IHOP is the create a face pancake. She eats the whipped cream first, then the fruit, and then the pancake-- very systematic!Daddy brought back this hat from Springfield-- Libs has been wearing it and sharing it with everyone since last night. I'm not exactly sure why he would buy something with a whistle attached---- I'm even less certain as to why Ron tried to teach her how to blow the darn thing last night!!! I guess that Daddy's sometimes don't think of the Mommy's who are at home all day listening to these things :)Tonight Jammy took a turn watching Libs so Ron and I could go on our Valentine's date-- or our Lincoln's 200th Birthday celebratory dinner-- whichever you prefer. Here we are after a dinner at Rattlers in Sam's Club! To round out the night we also went luggage shopping in Kohl's-- aren't we wild and crazy???

Stop this ride I wanna get off!!!

Today was a crazy, busy day! I think I need to take this weekend and simply do nothing to recover from the past few chaotic days!We began the morning at our Mom's Club Valentines party.... nearly 30 kids and less than 20 adults.... need I say more???Libi and I got to do some crafts, which were fun. She made a Valentine holder, a card for Nana and Pop and a special Valentine for Daddy!

Then we stopped by the house briefly to let Mom grab her car and for me to grab stuff for Skipper Club (as a just in case) in the evening.

We then followed Mom to Burbank so she could drop off a car for the boys who changed their flights and came in early.

Next was lunch with Nana and Pop. Libi used the power of both Jammy and Nana to help her open her cards from her friends. She felt so lucky to get such nice cards and 2 lollipops!!!You can see the focus she had while opening these things. I think she wanted to do it right the first time, since you can't do something like this over again!!

We left lunch in plenty of time to make it to Skipper Club for set up and the Guide Appreciation Dinner, however a fatality and car fire on the freeway had other plans for us. It took almost 2 hours to make a 20 minute drive so needless to say we did not make it to the start of Pioneer Club (or to the appreciation meal!) I'm so lucky to have thrown the stuff into the car earlier in the day!!!It was fun to have Ron, Jammy and Granpa all at her awards ceremony! The past unit was all about parents so we asked the kids what they loved about their parents. My darling daughter said she likes "hanging out with Daddy"-- I'm certain she heard another kid say hanging out becuase that's not something she says regularly!

We gave each of the kids mic time to say "I love you Mommy and Daddy", but my sweetie says, "I love you Daddy!!" What am I? Chopped liver???

Once we got home Ron said to Libs, "Tell Mommy you love her" she said love you Jammy, Tobee, Daddy, then finally Mommy. Well at least I know where I rank-- somewhere below the dog! Today that feels about right!!
