Daddy's Last Day...

Today was Daddy's last official school day-- we are all excited! Libs chose to talk to Daddy before he went to work this morning, so he got a later start than originally anticipated. It was nice for him to spend a little time seeing her in all her morning chattiness. After Daddy left, Libs went back to sleep and slept in until 9:3o.

We woke up to a phone call from Grandmalito who invited Libi and I to breakfast at CoCo's. We quickly got ready and ran over to Sand Canyon. It is very apparent to Mommy that this particular restaurant does not want children at their restaurant-- they have no changing tables in their restrooms. I had to take poor Libs out to the car and tailgate her diaper change. We had a nice chat with Grandmalito and a good breakfast, too.

After our visit, we went to JC Penney to pick up our photos. We had to wait for quite a while, but the pictures are really cute. We ran a few errands and then came home for a nap. Libs and I woke up to Daddy coming home-- which was a very nice sound! Tonight we are watching a DVD, eating ChiChi's and relaxing as a family.

I'm behind once again....

This is Ron's busy time of the year, so I don't know what my excuse is-- but here is what we've been up to:

Sunday was a busy day. Grandmalito and Grandpalito came over for a brief visit while Mommy and Daddy got ready for a visit from Uncle Ed. It was really nice to see one of our Pennsylvania relatives. Libs got to know her great uncle over dinner-- it was a nice evening for all. Unfortunately, after our company left we got two pieces of bad news-- Libi's favorite swing was recalled and Tobee accidentally killed a baby opossum in the yard. Daddy was going to go to bed early, but fortunately for Mommy he stayed up long enough to take care of Tobee's little trouble.

Monday, Mommy and Libs stayed close to home. The rest of the week will be very busy, so we needed a day to just relax.

Tuesday, we went to Nana and Pop's house. We had a great lunch and visit with them Libi especially enjoyed spending time on the patio. The sound and motion of the fountain always keeps her busy. Nana and Pop are so cute with her-- it's a nice break for me in the week.

Wednesday, we went to Disneyland with Aunt Andrea and Aunt Violet to meet up with Daddy who was there with 600 8th graders. It was a nice drive down-- only taking an hour and it was so helpful to have two other sets of hands when you have to get on the tram. It was a fun day catching up with some of the Rio folks and kids and showing Libi off. We even saw one of Jammy's best friends, Dee, and her son Jon who were at the park to celebrate Dee's birthday. The whole gang of Daddy, Andrea, Violent, Gina, Mommy and Libi went on Alice in Wonderland and the little girl loved it. We also saw the Tiki Room show, and again Libs loved all of the singing and action. Mommy and Daddy also took Libi on the Monorail, which she really enjoyed. We had two nice meals with Daddy and Aunt Gina and we ended up staying a lot longer than anticipated. Libs was at Disneyland from 10:30 - 7:30 her longest trip in her short little life. We came home to Grandmalito and Tobee-- it was so nice to see both of them.

Thursday, Mommy and Libs slept in a little. We met up with Mommy's friend Dolly and drove over to Rio to pick up all of the supplies for the Mint Canyon 6th grade gift (unfortunately, the 20 boxes of stuff were blocking walkways in the office.) Mommy and Libs stayed behind for Daddy's C-1 retirement party. It was so nice to see some of Daddy's ASB kids from the past four years-- many of whom didn't know about Libi so we got to show her off. Tonight Libs slept most of the night while Daddy was at 8th grade promotion. Daddy got home around 730 and we had a nice fish dinner and relaxed for the rest of the evening. Mommy also got some sad news from Jammy-- our friend Joyce Plonk passed away on Tuesday after a long battle with cancer. We will miss her and send all of our love to her children Janice and Steven.

The weekend...

Friday was a busy day for Miss Libs and I. We woke up earlier than usual to go meet Mimi at Weight Watchers. Mommy lost more weight, bringing her total to nearly ten pounds. It was fun having Bonnie hold Libs during the meeting.

We then drove to Mint Canyon to see all of Mommy's friends. Libs was passed around and she had a really good time. Afterwards we ran some errands at Hallmark and Blockbuster. Lib slept through most of it, she is such a trooper.

She and I spent the rest of the day at home cleaning and getting ready for a visit from Uncle Ed. When Daddy got home we had a quick dinner from Taco Bell and watched Music and Lyrics.

Saturday was a relaxing day. Mommy went and assembled some Dream Dinners so cooking will be easier. She also stopped by Albertsons to see her 6th grade students who were selling candy bars. Daddy went to work and was there lots of hours.

We all had a nice dinner of BBQ pork sandwiches, spinach salad, and tater tots. We read several books and played a bit and then everyone went to bed.

Daddy's first and last...

Today Libi and I hung out at the house most of the day. Mommy did some scrapbooking which was fun and she did lots of playing with Libi. My little girl now really laughs when I do silly things-- she is really developing her personality!

We had a really nice surprise this afternoon-- Mary Purdy dropped by for a visit. She was giving a final to a home-schooler down the street and thought she would see if we were home. This was the first time she met Libi-- fortunately Libs had just woken up from a nap and was very friendly. We chatted about Canyon and former students-- it was nice to catch up.

It was a night of firsts and lasts for Daddy tonight-- it was his last dance as ASB Director and his first yearbook dispersal. Libi and I went along for the festivities. We worked as bouncers in the yearbook room, walked around the dance outside to make sure that nobody was freak dancing, and met a lot of Daddy's students. When Libs was in the Baby Bjorn she was quite the celebrity-- many kids wanted to meet Baby Ippolito.

We just got home-- it's after 10 p.m. Daddy will be home soon and we will all go to bed. Tomorrow we will go to Weight Watchers with Bonnie, visit Mommy's school, run some errands, and pick up Jammy's car.

Libi is 19 weeks old..

Today Libi and I woke up and drove into Nana and Pop's house. It was our Wednesday lunch day today, so we got to hang out with the great-grandparents. Libs was pretty smiley until the end of the visit when her tiredness got the best of her.

We loaded back into the car and went to pick up Daddy at school. All of the folks at Rio Norte were glad to see Libi and she was passed around. We decided to go for an early dinner at Olive Garden before returning home.

Tonight we are going to hang out at home and rest. Daddy needs to get his Libi fix considering that he won't be home until after the 8th grade dance tomorrow, so he'll be very late.

Tuesday in the house...

Today Libi and I stayed in the house-- Daddy had the car at work. Libi was a trooper and slept in today. When she woke up, she just wanted to talk to her bears in her bassinet for nearly an hour-- letting Mommy get a few more moments of rest.

We did get up and play for a bit downstairs, but then Miss Libs got tired. While Mommy worked on the computer, Libs played with her giraffes. At 1 p.m. both Lib and Mommy took a nap. Mommy woke up at 2:30-- Libi didn't wake up until 4:30.

Daddy got home after 5 p.m. and then we went to return Jammy's rental car. After that quick trip, Daddy made dinner and went on Libi patrol so Mommy could take a shower. Tonight we are just hanging out at the house-- nothing exciting to report.

Libi's First Memorial Day

Today we will do something outside of the house-- we don't know what yet, but we promise to tell you all about it when we get back.

We went to Aunt Andrea's house for lunch and ate the all-American lunch of El Pollo Loco. It was fun hanging out with Aunt Violet and Aunt Andrea.

After our short visit we went to IKEA-- another American Memorial Day tradition. It was totally crazy there, so our visit was short.

We came home for a short rest, then went to the Ippolito's house for dinner. To conclude our patriotic all-American day we had a dinner of.... pizza. I guess that our activities today show what a melting place our country is and how lucky we are to have veterans who protect our right to eat ethnic food.
