Another reason to love preschool...

I was trying to take some candid pictures of Libi at school today, but as soon as she heard my flash pop she turned around.

While she was learning lots I was home purging from our bookshelf!

I truly love books and so does Libi, but we had tons too many so I pulled the ones we don't read any more and donated them to Little People.

Now we have gorgeous, well-organized bookshelves and a very happy Mommy!!!

During pick-up time there was lots of posing for me.

My sweet little girl brought me flowers (although I didn't think she was supposed to pick them.)

After catch with Miss Abla it was time to go home.

Today Libi made a self-portrait.

Do you see the resemblance??

After nap Libi made good use of her newly organized shelves by reading to Tobee.

When Tobee wasn't looking at the pictures Libi moved the book directly into her line of sight.

When Tobee lost total interest she moved on to her princess book....

until Daddy came home and she could do her light saber battles.

We now use all sorts of things in place of light sabers: wands, PVC pipe, drumsticks-- whatever is at hand.

Happy Labor Day!

This morning Libs did some puzzles while Ron ran to school (so much for taking a break from labor on Labor Day.)

After nap she set the table for us. She did a great job-- Nana would be proud!

In the evening we did a photo shoot for Grandparents' Day gifts.

Thanks to Picasa I was able to take pictures like this...

and turn them into adorable, personalized gifts like this!!!

A wonderful family day

I have finally run out of excuses for not going to church, so I just got myself out of bed, got dressed and went (with Ron and Libi in tow.)

I truly love church and how it makes me feel. I am so excited that Libi gets to start Sunday school next week to fill the Pioneer Club void in her week.

After church we treated ourselves to lunch at Claim Jumper.

Libi actually wanted to sit next to me which is a rare treat when the three of us go out.

Daddy got some good photos of us... and some not so good.

Libi loves pickles-- she is so not my daughter!

It actually works out perfectly for me because whenever I am served one she gobbles it down for me!

It was a really nice, low-key Sunday!

Going organic...

A few weeks ago we began getting food every Saturday from Abundant Harvest Organics.

It is full of fabulous, local fruit and vegetables.

Some things are foreign to me (many of the veggies are) but some are even foreign to Ron.

Today we got figs so we decided to have a tasting party.

The look on her face tells you that Libi wasn't a huge fan.

One tiara is never enough for a true princess-- here Libi has one on her head and one on each arm.

We filled our day coloring...

and spending time in the yard. At first Libi didn't see Ron taking pictures of her, but when she did she pulled out her best smile!

Lost things...

We had misplaced our light saber...

but today Libi found it!!! She yelled from the other room, "I found it!"

She then ran into the family room with her light saber in one hand and a tiara in the other.

Today we spent a lot of time playing around the house. Libi made a lovely tea for the two of us to share.

In this shirt she looks so much older than she really is.

It makes me sad!

First Share Day...

Today was the day that Libi has been looking forward to all summer... share day!!!

She decided to take her owl that we got for her in Las Vegas.

When you poke his tummy he hoots!

She wore a darling dress and practiced her speech!

On the way to school she put on her shades-- she's uber cool!

Once we were at school we followed school rules,

and put her share in her cubby.

She's playing with that ugly red ball again!!!

After school I asked her how share went...

It was good, but she had trouble getting the owl to hoot.

Miss Caroline came to the rescue and helped and everyone was impressed!

This was Libs art project of the day-- It shows Mommy, Daddy and Libi and how we are all friends.

Libi is a reading fool these days. This Pooh book was all about how Christopher Robin got in trouble for pulling Pooh's shirt. (I think they are having trouble with kids pulling on each other at school, because this has been a common story in our house since school started.)

Ron had Back to School Night so Libi and I were on our own most of the evening. I spent some time in the studio with Libi. It is so nice that she enjoys spending time in there with me!

When Ron came home he took Libs up for bed time and immediately called me to bring my camera.

Libi had decorated every door upstairs with one princess sticker.

We have been very lucky with Libs thus far. She hasn't been too much of a trouble-maker, but we did have to have a come to Jesus talk about where stickers belong.... and it's not on furniture!

I guess I have to watch little missy a little more closely when we are in the studio together.

Trying to catch up....

I'm so far behind-- as many of my faithful readers have pointed out-- so today will be short and sweet.

Libi has been having some bratty moments at home. Saying things like, "I don't have to" when we ask her to do something. She got in major trouble last night and didn't get a story read to her before bed. Today she was on her best behavior so she got a manicure from Mommy and a light saber battle from Dad.

Grammy came over to watch Libs while Ron and I went to the SCLP parent night.

We followed it up with a date night at Backwoods Inn. It was nice to have an evening alone-- even if it meant sitting through an hour and a half of parent information!

Date: September 1, 2010

Outside my window: It’s finally getting cooler!

I am wearing: Black pants and a purple shirt—fancy parent meeting clothes

I am going: To bed soon. We had the SCLP parent night at a mini-date at Backwoods Inn.

I am hoping: To be the SCLP PAC president this year—there is lots I want to do J

I am creating: Today I began a “Learn Something Every Day” class—it’s fun to do another daily!

I am hearing: Lots of Star Trek TNG from the TV—Ron reprogrammed the DVR to get as much as possible.

I am watching: Too much Top Chef Season 4—I wish they would release other seasons on DVD.

I am loving: Spending regular time in my studio.

On my mind: Whether or not we can swing getting Libs into kindergarten next year (providing she is ready to go.)

Pondering these words: Betsy wants to discuss teaching music again—the money would be nice, but losing my free time is not.

From the kitchen: There has been a hiatus from true cooking as we are still de-antifying our kitchen.

Around the house: Still have Easter decorations. They must come down soon or I will lose it!

One of my favorite things: That Libs is still a cuddly little thing!
