Screaming Kids and Coupons...

Our darling daughter has been quite noisy and full of life-- which is a really nice change from the sickly one we've had around!

I'm not too certain that Tobee appreciates the change-- she kind of likes things quiet.

Speaking of quiet-- Ron and I cashed in our Screaming Coupon at New Moon tonight for a date night.

We tried some new stuff including a yummy appetizer sampler...

and a scrumptious dessert.

Our date night ended as many do-- with a visit to Walmart (or sometimes Target). I know that his isn't the height of romance, but it's quite practical!

Rio Idol

Tonight we went to Daddy's school to see the kids perform in their talent show.

Before the kids took the stage, Libi did a little performing.

Daddy even got in on the act in between his duties.

Ron was in charge of videotaping, but he couldn't resist hoping on the mic to remind the kids of how to behave during the show.

For the second half Libi made a new friend who sat with her on the floor.

The acts were really good this year and most of them help the attention of a three-year-old!

My personal favorites and the nights first place winners were a group called Ecko who did a Stomp-type routine. It had an effect on Libs, I've already noticed her using her drumsticks on her chair :)

After the show Libs got to take the stage...

with a little help from Aunt Gina! This was the fun family musical evening we were hoping to find!

Crazy Hat Day...

Today was Crazy Hat Day at SCLP.

Trying to explain what crazy hat day is to a three-year-old is a little like me trying to fly an airplane.

To make things a bit easier I decided that this year would be a princesses-- I let Libs choose the princess and off I went to Cricut up a storm.

She colored the base paper and selected the Ariel pose-- I know that Ariel shouldn't be swimming in a pink ocean but our base hat was sparkly pink so be kind!

I think it came out really well!!!

When we got to school there weren't many kids with hats on-- certainly none with Ariel Lincoln hats as Ron referred to Libs!

Ben had a super cool bug hat on!

The teachers got into the spirit of things too-- here's Miss Caroline and

Miss Tasha, looking fly in her hamburger hat!

The kids all wanted to see what was inside Libi's hat-- here's a hint: NOTHING!!! Sorry kids!

This was the closest I could get to a picture of Ben and Libs together :(

When I got to school to pick Libs up I found her reading to her classmates. On the drive home I asked her if she was pretending to be Miss Tasha with her friends, her response: "No Mommy we are pretending to be girls!!"

At the end of the day the kids did their little parade to the big kids room.

I love this part of the day, when Libi sees me and her little face lights up. The joys of a SAHM!!!

Where's Libi??? Oh yeah, she's wearing a foot tall hat!

Poor girl found it hard to play in this hat....

but she persisted!

After nap and a trip to Agua Dulce to deliver a meal to a Mommy friend we headed to Valencia High School for a drama musical cabaret.

We were super excited to see singing and dancing...

and lots of kids that Daddy had at Rio Norte.

One of my favorites, Steven Schmidt, was the musical director as well as a member of the cast,

and Christian Guerrero was the producer. The show was good but a bit mature for little people. Luckily much of the sex, drugs, suicide, psychosis, and rape went right over Libi's head. Perhaps we shouldn't have assumed that a Broadway musical review was going to be all fun and games, but live and learn!

A day to play..... FINALLY!!!!!

Today Libs was finally back to her old self! We decided not to chance getting Nana and Pop sick so we stayed home to play. I was finally able to update the blog :) and I looked up from my computer to see this sight:

Libs in her toy basket. I asked her why she was in there and she simply replied, "It's OK Mommy, it's a ride!" Okie dokie!!

A few moments after I asked her to get out of her basket I found this: Libi's jewelry store had opened!! Just remember honey-- Mommy loves platinum :)

It was such a relief to have her playing again that I didn't even mind the mess!

She was sorting, chatting and playing ALL day! After two days of only being able to sit on my lap it was so nice to have her active again!

To give both of us the much needed chance to get out of the house we went to Skipper Club.

Libs was rocking the stage during the song portion...

until she saw Daddy come in! It was nice to see my Skipper kids after being gone for two weeks and it was heaven to leave the house.

Feeling better???

This was the way our day started-- look at my poor baby!!! It was another rough night, so we opted not to go to school today.

By the afternoon there was a glimmer that she was feeling better...

there was even smiling!

Hopefully the worst is over and after one more day of rest all will be well!

Sick again!!!!!

This was my view today-- I was stuck on the sofa with a sick child cuddling with me. There was no cleaning, no laundry, no computer time-- just a sad, clingy little girl who wanted to sit on Mommy's lap.

Despite how poorly she was feeling she still managed to smile for the camera...

except for when she was headed to bed...

my poor sick baby!!! It's only a stuffy nose and a cough, so we're hoping it passes quickly!!!

Date: February 1, 2010

Outside my window: Not really sure-- I was on the sofa with a sick little one all day

I am wearing: PJ's-- neither Libi nor I got dressed today

I am going: Crazy sitting here doing nothing!!!

I am hoping: That Libi's cold passes quickly and that Ron and I don't catch it.

I am creating: My Project Life album is caught up and I'm working on keeping up on this year's scrapbook.

I am hearing: Sniffles from Libi.

I am watching: Old episodes of Shear Genius getting ready for the new season.

I am loving: My cuddly little girl, I just wish I could have a moment to myself!

On my mind: I have a MOPS meeting tomorrow-- should I say what's on my mind to them?

Pondering these words: "Mandatory summer camp" I'm hoping SCLP doesn't do this or we will be finding another preschool for Libi

From the kitchen: Lots of "cold strawberries" for Libi

Around the house: Oh dear, it's a mess!!!

One of my favorite things: The Wii Fit, if I could get Libi well enough so I can use it again!
