A Royal Princess and her loyal subjects...

I won tickets to the Royal Dance Party months ago, but the date of the last party was the same day as Cris' 60th Birthday Bash. The woman who ran the party was kind enough to let me post-pone my win until today!!To make the event even more special, Jammy was in town so she came with us!!We started off by coloring Snow White-- she was the featured princess for the day.Next Libs grabbed a sword (they had lots to play with) and went to play with the bubbles and balloons. They had music playing, but all most of the kids wanted to do was run (Libi included!)They had a live musical appearance from Debi Derryberry. The songs were a tad odd-- a great deal of them revolved around a baby banana and his parents: a gorilla and a goose. The girls loved it when she called for volunteers to come help her sing the "Freckle Song."To fill the time before Snow White arrived Libi went to color with Jammy-- this time with markers!!They did have very nice snacks!Libs was so excited to try drinking out of the big girl glass. They served their apple juice in little plastic wine glasses-- quite a nice touch for little princes and princesses!
Next up: some dancing with Snow White and her prince!
Libi was quite fierce with these weapons of knightly destruction! You will note she wasn't wearing a princess costume (although I brought one with us.) I was very glad she was happy in her princess jumper because it was much easier to spot her in the crowd of fluffy princess costumes!

Snow White decided to do some group dance instruction. Poor thing wanted to dance with the costumed gals to her right, but they wanted nothing to do with her :(

I do love how Libs dances to her own drummer! After a 20 minute nap, a very cranky Libi met up with her Daddy and her Granpa at Nana and Pops house! It was the day to celebrate all of our September Birthdays-- Pop on the 11th and Granpa on the 20th. Libi brought each of them a crown from the princess party and INSISTED they wear them! Luckily they were very good sports and wore them most of the party! While the boys watched football, Libi played teacher and read the rest of us a story. She sat in a chair, demanded our attention, read the story, then held it up for us to see the pictures. What a little teacher in training!!
Libi's latest thing is to have Pop put on her shoes when she's ready to leave. I have not been making it easy on him, putting her in different shoes every time we visit. He doesn't seem to mind though and he seems to enjoy the stories Libi tells him while she gets her shoes on.

Happy Grandparents Day

September 11th was Granparents Day at SCLP.Libi was such a lucky girl... not only did Granpa drive down to attend...but Jammy did too!!They drove Libi to school where they met up with Grammy and Grampy. The kids did a program for their grandparents...but Libi wasn't having any of it!Ben is getting to be such a big boy-- he did everything! But, Libi just sat and cried!!

God bless my mother who acted as videographer for this event. When she thought she was taping, she wasn't and when she didn't want to record she was. We have 20 minutes of the shade covering and peoples shoes, but very few minutes of actual footage :)
She did manage to perk up to eat chocolate chip cookies!!Everyone enjoyed a tour of the school...

here is some of the only video of Libi's face. While the Grandparents took care of Libi I went to meet up with the girls form the Planet Earth table. I have an amazing table at MOPS this year, so I can't wait for the year to get started!I returned to Canyon Country in time to join everyone at IHOP. I hope this is a tradition that continues every year on Grandparent's Day!After a much needed nap we were back in motion...heading to Nana and Pop's house to celebrate Pop's Birthday! While Ron and Pop went to get pizza, Granpa helped pick carrots. The picking went well-- the washing didn't! A little water never hurt anyone!

A surprise from Daddy...

Skippy has been having a great time at our house. On this fine Thursday Libi believed that Skippy was going to accompany her to Little People. Too bad that Miss Carole and Mommy had other ideas. Poor Skippy had to wait in the car for Libi to be done with school. While she was at school they made cookies for Grandparents Day. Miss Sabrina told me that she took some cute pictures of Libi doing this-- I can't wait to see them. Also during school today Libi decided to play in the water fountain.... AGAIN!!! This would explain why she looks like a strip-y mess!I asked Libi after school who her friend was at school and she said, "Miss Tasha!" I guess if she has to have one good friend, the teacher is a good choice!Since Ron had a minimum day he came with me to get Libi. It was such fun to see the look on her face when she saw him. Hopefully he will be able to do this more in the coming months!

Welcome back Skippers

Today we spent some quality time with Nana and Pop. Today Libi decided that Pop was going to be responsible for putting her shoes back on. While he played shoe salesman she yacked about everything she was hoping to do when she got home.Tonight was the Skipper Club kick-off. Daddy and Libi went to VUMC and I went to a PTA meeting at SCLP.It was very strange not being there, but I sent very detailed isntructions. It's amazing how quickly Libi recalled the songs...

I can't wait to see this live again.

More rockin' out!!!
Libs was thrilled because she was awarded Skippy for the week. I wonder what adventures he will have at our house this week.

Libi is "speical"

It was another fun day at Preschool. They made signs with their hand prints...notice anything off about this sign??? Poor Miss Tasha, she had to misspell on the paper that goes to the house with two teachers. Oh well, it's still cute!In the evening Daddy and Libi had some bonding time,
while I went to have dessert with my MOPS sisters!

Labor Day

Happy Labor Day to all!Libs got all decked out in her flag skort and star shirt.I love that she lets me dress her in holiday stuff-- hopefully it will continue as she gets older. While I was packing with my "helper" she became angered that I wouldn't let her put my brush in her backpack. She threw a major tantrum and went to a more sympathetic ear. Just look at those sad faces-- I'm such a mean Mommy! As we got ready to go, Libi decided she'd be in charge of Tobee...I though it was going to end badly, but neither dog nor child was hurt!We got loaded into the car...and it was off to So. Cal.
