Lunch and Aunty time...

We met up with Nana and Pop today since we couldn't see them yesterday.Libs spent a lot of the visit singing into her "microphones" and blowing out imaginary birthday candles. She took her baby for a ride-- and ran over lots of things in the process. She also tried to wash her dolls hair by dropping a bucket full of figurines onto her head-- I think the hair cutting experience on Tuesday is still really fresh in her mind.Pop was really a good sport yesterday. He listened to a lot of singing and stories by Libs AND he participated in the family band. Libi gave Nana, Mommy and Pop each 2 instruments to play while she drummed along. He dutifully played his part-- what a trooper!!!Cupcakes for dessert are always fun!!! Libi chose the one with red frosting even though Mommy wanted her to have the one with white frosting. When she was done Nana thought she needed more frosting so she gave her the rest of her blue cupcake-- Thanks Nana!!!!In the evening Mommy had a meeting and Daddy had promotion so Libs got to spend time with Aunt Andrea. Grammy also came over and brought stickers and a new puzzle!!!Libs loved the stickers....Tobee did not!!!!After a long few days Libs was pretty exhausted...but she wasn't too tired to bury Mommy with all her toys!!!

We're hoping things will settle down now that school is over for Daddy!!!

A super busy, but wonderful Wednesday!

Today our family had a BIG day!! Our first stop was to see Lucas promote at La Mesa.He received a special award for his grades-- I am so proud of him!!Here he is receiving his diploma-- what a special thing to get to see. He will always be one of my favorite students and I'm so glad he includes me in these milestone moments! As soon as the ceremony ended we hopped into the car and headed to Disneyland!!!! On the road we passed a red cabbed semi truck and Libi yelled, "Mack!!!" I think we've been watching the Cars movie too much!!!!We were super excited to see Donald Duck for the first time today. Libs has been to Disneyland 31 times (as of today) and every time she asks to see Donald Quack Quack-- today her wish was granted!!!The characters were out in force today and we took advantage of it. We saw: Goofy,Mater and Lightening McQueen,Tink, Chip andDale. We also spent some time in DCA exploring some areas we don't regularly spend time in. We went to the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail to climb on things and explore. Libs was a bit unsure about the swinging bridge at first, but with Daddy's help walked all the way across! She also crawled (or scooted) all the way through the tunnel. Of course Jesse had to go in first to check it out, but once Daddy was on the other side she was motivated to go through. We had to wait a very, very long time to see Mickey Mouse! Jesse and Daddy filled the time so the wait wasn't unbearable! What happens when Daddy is called to First Aid to take care of a student??? Libi entertains herself by running, dancing and singing through the courtyard! I think she was just thrilled to be allowed some free time without having to hold someones hand!We did stay until the end of the night-- even though we weren't planning to. Libi had never seen Disneyland at night AND they were doing the very first preview of the summer fireworks show. She had never seen fireworks before and this seemed like the perfect chance. She never flinched-- loved every minute of it-- especially when Tinkerbell AND Dumbo flew!!! It was very exciting!!!

First real haircut!!!

Today I took Libi to get her first real haircut. She had a unique hair growth pattern-- the lower layer was about 3 inches shorter than the top layer. We aren't quite sure why this happened-- but we decided to even it up for summer!Libi was so excited to see Cassie so she was very good, albeit a little squirmy during the process.Libi chatted her way through the appointment-- surprise, surprise. She was used to getting her bangs done so this part was old hat.She can see again!!!!When her turn was over she immediately put her hat on-- which ruined the effect. I set her up in the chairs with all of her stuff-- she had quite a nice little picnic going. When we got home we went outside for a photo shoot so I could show off her new do!She looks like such a big girl!! Here is the side view!Such a pretty girl!!!

As a special treat for our readers.... tonight Libi decided to do some dressing up. She became a fairy with a 'tude:Super cool!!!

A day at the zoo

Today some of our MOPS gals met up at the L.A. Zoo for a few hours.
Libs and I are never one to miss an outing so we went along (actually I organized it, but that's not really important!)

We drove down with Laura and Courtney. Libs loved being around a big girl!!Courtney and Libi played together really well. They tickled each other and talked to each other during the drive down and then Courtney pushed Libs all over the front of the zoo while we waited for the other gals. When it came time to see the animals Libi wanted to be up on the railings like the big kids. Mommy had to supervise this!!!So many animals were active due to the chilly weather-- it was great for the kids. We saw:Armadillos walking around-- they are very awkward walkers! The baby koala was also active. He climbed all over while the kids watched and squealed!!The kangaroos were eating when we first entered Australia-- when we left the area they were lounging! The gorillas are always a favorite with the kids...our kids were no exception. We spent a great deal of time watching them walk around and play with each other. The lions were even walking and talking...the boy lion was very interested in the girl lion-- if you catch my drift-- luckily no baby lions were created while we watched. The lioness wasn't having any of his schenanigans-- many of our Moms could relate :)
After a brief stop for lunch by the giraffes and lions, our animal hunt continued! The tigers weren't active but they were out where we could get a good peek at them. The rhino was being treated by the vet-- his horn was infected and so it had to be removed. All 3 giant tortoises were out and about today. The didn't do a whole lotta moving while we were there but they at least were out to say hello!Perhaps the most exciting thing we saw all day was the jaguar. He was walking all around his enclosure and growling-- perhaps it was his nap time. After a full day of looking at animals and picking up every blooming leaf in the entire zoo...we were all tuckered out!
