I'm tired!!!

I was up early today to say goodbye to the boys. Miss Libi (who spent much of the night in our bed) decided to spend the rest of the morning perpendicular to me at knee level. Thus I didn't really return to sleep for fear that I would roll over onto her.

When we did come downstairs Miss Libs decided to have a birthday party for her princess dolls. More and more folks kept coming to the party: Mickey, the dwarfs, animals, etc.... I hope there was enough cake :)Next it was off to the tub. I love this action shot that Mom got-- just look at the water cascading off her! Mom is an amazing photographer (and I don't even have a giant screen to view the pictures on!)After her bath, she decided to mug for the mirror. I'm not sure where she gets her dramatic side-- I'm guessing it's from Ron-- but she loves to watch herself in mirrors and window reflections.Once she was dressed, Jammy gave her some sunglasses. She put them on and said, "Rock star!!" She was rocking the flower glasses!Next we were off to the mall for lunch, some shopping and a little time in the play yard. It was Mom's first time to experience the joys of the mall play ground: the kids who are too big knocking down all of the little kids, parents not paying attention, kids without socks running around with their stinky feet, and trying to keep your eye on your little one while all this is going on.While we were at the mall I couldn't resist these Minnie Mouse rain boots. Libi has been eyeing boots for quite some time and with all the wet weather this seemed like the perfect time to invest in some.Little Miss took the world's longest nap-- she just wouldn't wake up. The only way we could get her up was to promise her that she could bake after dinner. So we got all suited up-- aprons for the two of us and a chefs hat for Libi-- and set to bake sugar cookies.Chef Liliana took to the rolling pin like a pro! She rolled and cookie cuttered and decorated. Yeah! (That is a reference to ZeFronk on Playhouse Disney for those of you who don't know!)When we were done, Miss Libs shouted, "Ta-da!!" and insisted that we eat them. Sadly we had to bake them for 1o minutes before we could snack, but she managed to wait.

The boys are safely in Springfield and are getting ready for a big day tomorrow. Jammy, Libi and I are tired and heading to bed-- no telling what adventures the girls will have tomorrow!

Musically movin'

Today we had music class and we were lucky enough to have Jammy come with us.While she didn't dance with us, she was able to take some good photos! It's so nice to actually have a picture of the two of us in class together!One of Libs favorites of the moment is a song called "Old Joe." It is all about a horse that rides through the country. We got to use pool noodles as our horses today in class.After a nap we went down to Nana and Pop's for dinner. Libs got to ride her tricycle some more...Jammy took her on a spin...so did Pop!To settle down, Nana read Libs a fairy book. They had so much fun seeing all that fairies do and Libs named all of them after Tinkerbell characters.

Tomorrow we will send Daddy and Granpa off on their Lincoln pilgrimage. If you want to follow their adventures, you can check out his blog.

Rainy Thursday...

Today was a very rainy day in the Santa Clarita Valley. However it is always fairy weather in the Ippolito house. When Jammy and Granpa arrived, Libi insisted on going for a wagon ride. Sadly it was raining outside so Granpa took her up and down the runway.Before I went to my scrapbook meeting, Libi and I decided to bake some banana bread. We make quite a team in the kitchen-- in our matching aprons.Libs is getting really good at pouring and stirring.The bread came out very tasty!!! If you would like a loaf just send you requests to me :)
Tomorrow we get ready to say goodbye to Granpa and Daddy as they embark on their Lincoln Extravaganza. We will miss them, but Jammy, Libi and I will have fun :)

Silly Libi....

After a quiet day at home we went to Skipper Club this evening. Libs loves the singing portion of the meeting.Tonight Libi got to dance with Miss Ellen. We had a good meeting-- the kids talked about being nice to others. When we asked Libi who she could be nice to she said Mommy, Daddy and Madison (one of the girls in her class.)Due to Daddy working late, we went to dinner after Skipper Club. At Islands, Libi decided she was going to be a two-fisted drinker....Apparently milk and water should be drunk together!

When Ron put her down for bed tonight she told Daddy that she was going to have "dreams." When he asked who she was going to dream about she recited the cast of the Tinkerbell movie. I guess that Libi goes to Pixie Hollow in her dreams-- so sweet!

My book worm...

This morning my darling little girl throws on a shirt that I left on the sofa, looks at me and says "Super Hero!" I'm guessing she said this because her Mommy is a super hero--- either that or she liked the way it flapped in the wind like a cape.During Playhouse Disney this morning "Can You Teach My Alligator Manners" went to the library. A very inquisitive Libs asked what it was-- when I told her it was a place full of books, she asked to go. For the remainder of the morning all I heard was "libary, libary, libary"-- it is a hard word to say-- so we got dressed and headed down the hill to the Canyon Country Library.Libi and I both got new library cards (I haven't been to check anything out of a library since high school, so I certainly needed a new card!) She tried to sign her own name on the application, but I had to stop her :)Once in the children's section she made herself right at home: looking at books, playing with the puzzles and toys, and she even sat down next to a mother and son who were reading together so she could hear the Mickey Mouse story too.I tried to convince her not to take books off the shelf, but this one really appealed to her. She grabbed it off the shelf, sat down, and "read" me the story. The book was about a samuri, but she told a different story entirely-- I just love her imagination!

Groundhog Day...

Cindy just reminded me as we sit here cropping that today is Groundhog Day. Actually Cindy's daughter told her it was Groundhog Day-- she learned all about it in Kindergarten... they even made groundhogs! Since I despise that movie, I guess it just slipped my mind so thanks Tori for the reminder.Today we really began to sprout on our Chia pet. The Lopez family was kind enough to give Libi an elephant Chia pet for Christmas-- not knowing about my black thumb (which I inherited from my darling mother!)It is sprouting on both sides, thank you very much! I am bound and determined that my daugther's first Chia pet will be a success! It doesn't help that Ron taught her the "Chi-Chi-Chi-Chia Pet" song that Libi sings whenever she sees it sitting on the window sill.
Last, but not least I am done with the thank you notes from Libi's second birthday party. They will be in the mail tomorrow-- yippee!!!

Today it's all about the little things for me-- Libi and I ran errands and she was a dream, Ron skipped his meeting and came home to spend time with us, and I got tons of stuff done!! All is good on More Court!

Super Bowl Sunday

As is our Super Bowl tradition, today found us in Palmdale at the Limon's house. We went all dressed in cardinal red, in the hopes that it would help the underdogs-- alas it didn't work!It was nice to see the family AND to spend more time with Andrea. Look at those two siblings-- aren't they sweet?Libs was in fine form yelling, "Go Birdies" (since she couldn't say Cardinals) and "Touchdown" whenever the mood struck her! She found a friend-- a girl who was about 8 years old called Danmarie. The two of them tumbled, bounced and played together. Leave it to Uncle Jose to have a cool contraption for Libs to try. During half time he got out this scooter to take Libi around their yard it. It was funny to watch her get rides from all of the adults-- even Grammy took her on a spin!

On our way out Aunt Anne pulled me aside and said we were doing a nice job with Libi-- it was one of the nicest compliments I've ever recieved! She and Jose are such amazing parents that to have them say we're doing OK was a real blessing!
