Leap Day!

Today at school Libi did a bunch of frog crafts for Leap Day!

After dinner Libi found one of her workbooks and asked if we could work in it.

I am amazed how in just a few months her abilities have improved! She is coloring like a champ, she is able to focus on lots of details, her penmanship has improved, and her love of learning is increasing exponentially! In case you can't tell, I'm one proud Mama!

Bye Bye Daddy

We drove Ron down to Burbank this afternoon so he could fly to CADA.

Poor Lou fell asleep in the car about five minutes away from the airport so she didn't get to give Daddy a goodbye hug.

To miss some of the traffic we went to have dinner with Pop.

Libi directed us in a band and then spent the rest of the night playing with her Calico Critters.

Slow picture day....

Today was full of lots of running around. We did take a little time out to have a fun family dinner at Chili's before Daddy leaves for CADA.

The call...

Today I got the call that I knew would come at some point, but I was hoping to avoid as long as I could...

I was volunteering at West Ranch and school called saying that Libi wasn't feeling well. She totally loves school (she begged me to go last week when she had such a rough night) so I knew if they were calling that she was in bad shape!

She has a mega cold complete with runny nose, watery eyes, and a need for lots of snuggles! Daddy had a mega-packed day (which we were supposed to join in on) so Mommy was on duty! We drank lots of juice, made smoothies, watched movies, and cuddled, cuddled, cuddled! Hopefully this will be short-lived-- we have a fun weekend planned!

Getting into the Valentine's Spirit with a Christmas twist...

On Feb. 1st Libs began wearing her Valentine's attire. Today she wore an outfit from last year that we will happily be passing on to cousin Maddie soon since she won't be able to wear it any more!

Lou drew a self-portrait today-- she looks good with blue hair!

OK-- don't judge, but we still haven't completed our Christmas CD yet.

So many of you will be getting our Christmas cards and CD around Valentine's Day-- better late than never, I always say!

Much needed family time!

I did another Bento today-- this one was all about love (note the X and O at the top?) I used string cheese for the x, a cutie for the o (complete with writing from my food safe pens), Pirate Booty, and a home-made smoothie.

Today at school they were talking about transportation...

Libi was very proud of her picture that she made and even prouder that she had been on both a train and an airplane!

We met Daddy for lunch to try to reconnect (we've all had crazy schedules lately!)

Claim Jumper was very quiet-- until we came in!

Libi loved spending some quality time with both of us...

and the mini corn dogs didn't hurt either!
